Wii. When I'm playing, there is a display on the points you have in the top right corner of the screen. You get the points by killing enemies and jumping on the flagpole at the end of the level. What I want to know is what the point of them are. |

They are used to determine, among other things, when you receive fireworks at the finish of a level. B.) They are a holdover from the origin of video games, where competitive players would attempt to receive the highest score in arcades. A player with the most points would be displayed at the top of a score-board screen, shown between demo sequences while a game was in "attract" mode. Many older game players still try to top their own high scores, and they can be used to track competitions and records of "best" players. |

I'll still brag about them sometimes to be funny. |

Sure we mostly failed but the ones that came closest had the honor to have three letters spread on a digital wall and most people didn't care to much, AAA was usally what they typed. I used to try to make the highscore in Super mario bros 1 and 3 to roll over. SMB i did good on eating my mushrooms and stomping on those turtles to get points, i was up to my knees in turtlesoup sometime's, and now and agan i ended up throwing this old guy down in a giant tub of ketchup, and he must have been a wealthy guy or been from a family of eight identical siblings cause he tended to show up in a even bigger place. After getting him or them down there i usually found a little kid in a funny hat babbling about some castle somewhere, but i didn't pay attention, there was numbers to turn. and after i had thrown that old creepy guy down the drain this hot babe appeared and thanked me for saving her, i should been happy i guess but every time the game froze there and i could not do anything more, even after taking out the cartridge and blew on it didn't start again. Back in those days we didn't have CD or Bluray, we had something that can be described as a fat cousin to a 3.5 inch Diskette, and we put them in this grey box that made wonders i can tell you, Nintendo Entertainment System it was called, not something you could mistake for the male sexorgan now is it, sure we did blow it but it dosen't sound as sexual as blowing your wii now does it? other tricks we had was wiggle the cartridge, more blowing, turning your console on and of, blowing, start the console and then after putting you game in press reset and did i mention pressing your lips toghterer and exhale oxygen into the contact's of the cartrdige? What really tickled me about not being able to play more was because i was only 2 points away mostly, and i wasn't even able to type in my AAAs anywhere. The SMB3 i fared even worse at, sure the game was longer but the counter allso had some more zeroes in there. I no longer found those kids in the castles instead they had their own illegal casino buissnies out on and about, but they must have thought that i was stupid cause after a while i started to see a pattern in their memory games. And that old guy i didn't see until much later in the game, to bad that someone thought that this man is what i want to mate with resulting in 7 of the ugliest teenagers i ever seen. and when old father creepy entered He stomped the floor soo hard he fell down to the cellar, it was kind of bad for him he fell right on his old bel air down there. Next room this lady appeared, said something about this castle again before lughing her ass of, i didn't cause now i was stuck again 4 points from making the numbers roll over. And still i wasn't able to type in AAA! |

BACK IN THE DAY, though, the points were sort of for bragging rights. I still make it a habit to write down my endgame scores when I beat an older game. |
