Well, Bowser Jr. is Bowser's only child.

And when I say the Koopalings aren't his kids, I mean it's never said that they are. I wish I could say where I heard that from.

^^ Ah. I hope you can find it. Adoptive is quite believable. It would also explain why they get much less spotlight than the ones from Mario Party(oddly enough) and Bowser Jr.

Bowser's title is "King of the Koopas" in English. His Japanese name is Kuppa, with a title that translates to something like "Demon King". The name Kuppa is a pun on Kappa.

Kappa (folklore) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Kappa are usually seen as mischievous troublemakers. Their pranks range from the relatively innocent, such as loudly passing gas or looking up women's kimonos, to the malevolent, such as drowning people and animals, kidnapping children, and raping women.
Quote:
Kappas are also known as ravishers of women. An 18th-century ukiyo-e image by Utamaro depicts kappas raping an ama diver underwater. In his Tōno Monogatari, Kunio Yanagita records a number of beliefs from the Tōno area about women being accosted and even impregnated by kappas.

It all makes sense now! But then again, it may just be the turtle aspect. As for him liking Peach, it's still not farfetch'd.

Golduck is also based on a kappa, which makes the episode where a wild Golduck goes around flirting with Misty really disturbing.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Projection.

I think Bowser's constant failures are getting to him. He's been trying to rule the galaxies in lieu of just kidnapping Peach as of late.

You'd think a roving, homeless band of teenagers capturing and forcing wild animals to duel to the death would be a creepy enough premise.

Mostly, I just think Ash is an insane sadist, and hallucinating the majority of his experience to cover up the trauma of the deaths of his parents as well as his subsequent homelessness. There probably aren't even any pokemon at all, they're just an empowering fantasy that his mind made up to rationalize him having abilities he's at least somewhat otherwise aware he should not. His encounters with other trainers are potentially fantastical fronts covering up his brushes with members of society as a rabid homeless boy, or perhaps his delusion somehow incorporates the killing of stray animals and pets he catches to feed himself so he does not need to be aware of it while he performs what is necessary to stay alive.

So then Team Rocket....still is an organized crime syndicate, because that actually still makes total sense in your scenario.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Weeeeeeell, heya! It just so happens that I have the Instruction Booklet for Super Mario All Stars. Here's the excerpt from page 23.
Quote:
STORY
The Mushroom Kingdom has been a peaceful place thanks to the brave deeds of Mario and Luigi. The Mushroom Kingdom forms an entrance to the Mushroom World where all is not well. Bowser has sent his 7 children to make mischief as they please in the normally peaceful Mushroom World. They stole the royal magic wands from each country in the Mushroom World and used them to turn their kings into animals. Mario and Luigi must recover the royal magic wands from Bowser's 7 kids to return the kings to their true forms. "Good-bye and good luck!", said the Princess and Toad as Mario and Luigi on their journey deep into the Mushroom World.

It just so happens that I have the manual to the original NES version of the game, in which Morton Jr. and Lemmy both refer to Bowser as "dad".

I'd like to note that it's still not impossible that Bowser adopted his "seven children". I mean, why is this so hard to believe? And Bowser Jr. being his only legitimate child is awkward? Look who's showed up more. Shoehorned in, or maybe it's a hint at what I said?

I still like to believe they're all legit, but eh, until Nintendo gives a definate statement...

My Theory is Bower Jr is a clone, hence looking identicla to his younger self. But the first 7 where born nomrally.
