(And my site, the Mario Outpost no longer exists for some evil reason). I, SmithyGCN, am working on a fan game called GANBARE NINTENDO DENSETSU NO.009 (roughly translated: Fight on, Nintendo! Fantasy Number 9) and have been working on it for a long time. It's been great, but there's only 1 problem: I am the only one working on it. Yeah, if it keeps on like this, the game will never see release. The game is an RPG tieing in all Nintendo franchises plus any and all characters who have ever made an appearance on a Nintendo console. It has a very good and LOGICAL storyline with a Tales of Symphonia-esque battle system. Tales of Symphonia whereas you are able to roam the battlefield freely, but the similarities end there. I hope to have SotN quality animation as well. If anyone has ANY questions feel free to ask! Also, if you want, you may sign up to help with it! (Golem, Jay Resop, Boomerang Bro. are you still there?) Keep Christ in Christmas! |

(But if we're talking sprites, I have made some pretty good sprites of Ganondorf and Nightmare from SCII for the game; I'll post them when I find out how). |

I hope to get it done, but you don't necessarily have to help with programming. You could submit your own sprites, send in concept art, add voice work, or find remixed versions of Nintendo music. |

I hope this gives you a general idea as to how the battle sprites will look! (These are only boss monsters, though) I'll more than likely change the palette because some of the monsters that are supposed to be red look pink. |

(But it doesn't change if you have (example) Fox and then switch out (example) Falco since they're from the same game.) Bosses have their own battle themes. Sorry about that, I am adding different things in little tidbits as I go along... Keep Christ in Christmas! |

He pops up from the ground and shouts "YABBA! YABBA! YABBA!" at the enemies (the giant words fall on top of the enemies doling damage) and then finishes by yelling "NOW SCRAM!" at which point he smashes the closest enemy with his pick ax and leaves. It's pretty funny once you think about it... |

Here's some concept art: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../Syndicate.bmp Tell me what you think! (By the way, has anyone seen the sprites yet?) Keep Christ in Christmas! |

You should make reasonable goals if you want help with this one. |

You just do some small tidbits of a voice for the character, not actually entire lines. The only full words spoken are in battle whenever the character announces his attack. It's really not all that hard. This also helps me avoid what happened to the game Baten Kaitos. The game was great, but the voice acting needed a lot of work. Nothing personal, though. Even if somebody had the talent, and for some odd reason would want to work on this project, that person would only be able to do a few voices at most. You need lots of voices. And it's not like Nintendo wouldn't shut you down if you ever actually got popular, which you won't because everyone's had this Nintendo RPG idea before and nobody's done it right. You can't do this. Nintendo's the only one who can legally do this, and that would take a lot of resources they won't have if they keep screwing up like they have been doing with their Super Mario Sunshines and their Game Boy Micros and their horrible game lineup for the DS. Besides, how do you expect to program a game when you're too stupid to even make a link correctly? Didn't you catch how Photobucket resized your image? And you saved it as .bmp. You lose. |

I HAVE BEEN AWFULLY FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE SO FAR AND I DO NOT NEED IDIOTS LIKE YOU TO GUM UP THE WORKS!! PHOTOBUCKET SHRINKS IT DOWN, I KNOW, BUT YOU CAN SAVE IT TO YOUR COMPUTER AND VIEW THE THING THERE. AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM AFTER VIEWING THEM, DELETE THEM! IS IT THAT HARD TO COMPREHEND FOR A COMPLETE MORON LIKE YOU OR DO I HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU? MY STORYLINE IS FLAWLESS AND EVERYONE WHO HAS HEARD IT LIKES THE STORY AND HAVE ENCOURAGED ME TO GO THROUGH WITH IT! SO WHAT IF NINTENDO HOLDS THE RIGHTS TO IT? IT'S A FAN GAME! A COMPLETE HOMAGE TO THEM AND ISN'T MADE TO MAKE MONEY FOR ANYONE! IT IS MADE TO TELL A STORY JUST LIKE A FAN FICTION THAT YOU READ ON THE NET EXCEPT THAT IT'S INTERACTIVE! AS LONG AS PEOPLE ENJOY THE GAME, THEN I'VE DONE MY JOB! I WOULD RATHER NOT USE SUCH A COLORFUL WORD TO DESCRIBE YOU, BUT YOU'VE REALLY RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY!!! I DON'T REMEMBER EVER TELLING YOU TO STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING JUST BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE IT, DO I?! THE VOICE CAST IS ACTUALLY OPTIONAL AND PEOPLE CAN LEND THEM IF THEY WANT TO! I WON'T FORCE ANYONE INTO IT. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HELP ME THAN FINE! BUT KEEP YOUR HALF-WITTED COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!!!! ![]() |

What the heck are YOU doing on a Nintendo forum anyway if you're nothing more than a hater of Nintendo? |

I was responded to with a triple post, one of which was in almost all capital letters and had lots of excess exclamation points. And the grand finale... The angry emoticon. I hope you realize that the angry smiley is so dumb looking that coherent people use it when they're pretending to be stupid. Quote:

It doesn't matter whether you're making money or not, Nintendo's been a jerk about this kind of thing before. Quote:

So far Nintendo has shown little, if any, interest in the growing communities of fangaming. The only instance of Nintendo shutting down a fangame is Oot2d... but there is quite a bit of evidence that that whole ordeal was faked (what really happened was someone posing as Nintendo sent a threatening e-mail to the host of the site, and in a panic, the host shut down TRM's web page). There's a big conspiracy theory going around about Oot2D and how it's not really being made and TRM's just leeching off the hype blah blah blah, but I won't go into that right now. Point is, you are in very little danger of getting shut down by Nintendo. Unfortunately, it seems as if that is the least of your problems. Feh, I probably shouldn't have brought up the copyright thing, seeing how it wasn't terribly relevent, but when somebody talks about a game involving tons of characters from different companies... |
