I'm a sucker for tradition. Emphasis on "sucker".

I'm not proud to admit I have owned all eight installments. Plus the DS version.

I'm probably going to get this too, because I am an idiot.

^But have you owned the GBA game?

If you haven't, you may escape yet.

I might cared more about the later MP games if I thought they weren't just doing it to see how many playable characters they could cram in.

^ Eh.

I am happy to hear this. Truthfully, besides the GBA game being meh(IMO), my only gripe with Mario Party was that 7 wasn't on the Wii.(3 per Console seemed to start that way) But that's a personal preference of mine. Anyway, about time. I'm surprised they didn't think of this earlier. Or atleast, didn't work on it. Let's hope it's step up from 7 and 8. Specifically, I liked watching Computers play against eachother. It was fun doing that, because I could grap a snack and watch a chaotic match.

Not that I don't enjoy playing the game, of course. Only saying that why remove that option from the first six in the first place? Never could get that, that's all.

But I liked some mechanics from every game(save GBA), so eh.

I still hate the idea of videogames that are actually board games. Real videogames plz.

Actually, I'm pretty comfortable with the horrible dev being forever locked in Mario Party hell, too, so scratch that.

Note to self: Never go to a party at Mario's house. All we will do is play minigame-filled Parcheesi. It will be lame.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I might get it, seeing as I only have #6 and DS.

Heh, that's right. Imagine what would happen if the Mario Party developers tried to take over any other franchise... God of War XXXVII. Mass Effect 90. Final Fantasy MCLII. Portal Freakin' Infinity.

It's a board game where you get to play videogames. What's wrong with that?

Could be fun- it needs less minigames that you MUST unlock, more than just a few available boards at the beginning of the game, a somehow fun Story Mode (with multiplayer, please), creative new gameplay elements, Donkey Kong as a playable character (rather than having him as a mini-game host just to try and have something new in the game), and, you know, more fun mini-games. That would be nice.

Hmmmm.

Before, I was wondering what Nintendo was thinking, making everyone use one vehicle and move along with the others, but...am I seeing a bit of NSMB Wii influence here?

Interesting.

^^an ad for some game called binary domain showed up and the mature rating showed up and i was like "whoa damn this is gonna be one cool mario party game"

the car thing looks odd, makes the game seem more cooperative. i wanna get everyone's stars on the last turn with chance time and piss everyone off damnit. but i'm getting it anyway

Mario Party 9 - Wii - IGN

So far it got a 7/10, so it's by far not the worst installment at least.

Peach is the most... egregious case.

And in the first 3 MPs, the reels in chance time can be manipulated to your whim more easily, at least the character reels. Just PAY ATTENTION!
