Best Mario Character of All Time?

I've been wondering what you guys think is the best Mario character of all time. I was gonna make a poll, but there's too many choices. It's simple: just tell me who you think is the best Mario character of all time and I'll tally the results. Somewhere before the topic either becomes too big to be kept open or before it seems totally dead from no one posting, a winner will be decided. That is all. Get voting!

Almost all of them are cool in a way. Well...definitely the main characters rock. I personally like Luigi, but he isn't necessarily the best.

Now about characters in a setting? I think Mario characters that did the best were Mario and Luigi in M&LSSS. Great comedy value together.

Goomba: don't talk much, not enough respect for the little guys, & some can fly & have babies follow them pointlessly (how adorable)

it's got to be yoshi because he's the best in everything, in melee he had a small comptition from King Bowser but except for that he is the best.

Wario, simply because he's NOT a clone of Mario. He's his own character, with his own abilities and styles.

So is Waluigi(being his own character, that is), but he was a clone of Luigi.
