CONCERNING BRAWL SPOILERS

Hayfever, Jay? If you want to add to this at any point, feel free.

Brawl has had its street date broken in Japan.

This means we are going to be getting a huge list of spoilers over the next hours, days, and maybe weeks. Soon enough all content in the game will be known to us.

Some people do not want to have this spoiled for them. I, personally, do not want to hear anything about the Subspace Emissary, largely because it has Mother 3 spoilers and I have yet to finish it and Lord Kenny I will strangle you. Not the point. Point is that it has spoilers and not everybody wants to have it spoiled for them.

This is a reasonable desire. So here are what you can call "Spoiler Guidelines".

This is pretty simple - the roster is something we don't want necessarily spoiled, because who knows? Someone might like the surprise. And any picture of these characters, at least early on, is going to be from the Subspace Emissary. Which flows into this:

Do not post screencaps from the Subspace Emissary. Use a hyperlink to the picture that is clearly labeled.

I realize I did this earlier: I'm going to go back and edit it. The reasoning here is especially simple: this is the part of the game with a plot, the one that has actual spoiler potential. Don't spoil this for other people.

If you discuss any spoiler material (roster, SSE plot, etc.) put it in spoiler tags and clearly label its content.

I will provide a demonstration of how to do this. Ahem:

You're absolutely right about Subspace spoilers, Wy, especially if it really does have Mother 3 info in it.
I think it's also fair to say, though, that really freaking obvious stuff (like Luigi or Jigglypuff) or known returning characters (Ness & Marth, the former of which had already been accidentally confirmed on Dojo anyway) are fair game.

I'm going to enforce the No SE/M3 Spoilers thing like Neville Flynn enforces snake-free air travel; don't screw with us on this, guys.
Might be a little lax on the roster spoilers, but only if it's something that's not a big deal.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I'm not posting here yet, but I am lurking from time to time. If any previous character makes the short list, I'd say it's fair game. If it's someone new, then we exercise caution.

SSE spoilers should be kept in a nice gift package that everyone can untie at their leisure.

Be that as it may, I don't think it merits a change in policy.
