That's a very nice theory. Let's put it up on the refrigerator with the others.

Master Hand didn't appear in a Kirby game until Amazing Mirror. So...yeah. I don't think that hand is actually Master Hand.

The Master Hand has been Sonic's hand all along but then when Sakurai said he could be in Brawl he gave it to Tabuu.

I don't think that cursor is MH. Just a way of showing what you're selecting.

oh come on, why do you guys have to act like this every time I put in my two cents on something or put some new idea forward. it's like there's a "flame inferno" squad just waiting to attack when I put some opinion of mine up. I was trying to be silly with this topic while at the same time putting forward my thoughts on who master hand is.

and that guy's right, the disembodied hand cursor from the kirby games for the continue/quit screen has been there since the first kirby game, and when you select continue it either pokes kirby twice, (one of MH's moves) smacks him around or otherwise bugs kirby in some way to get him to wake up and get going again. that thing acts alot like master hand when you go back and watch it.

but I'll bet you guys want some proof right?

it's the only vid I could find on youtube of a kirby game over screen that involves the hand so, yeah. if I could find vids of the ones from dreamland 1, superstar, etc. you'd see what I mean that it's been around for a while.

Hey, come on, you take things way too seriously, we're just messing with you, that's all.

As for the video and stuff, I don't really see that as the Master Hand. A lot of games have a hand as a cursor, like the Smash Bros. character select screens, the Chao garden in Sonic Advance, the Super Mario 64 file select, and way too many other games to count.

Inferno is the new me! Yay! I can be a jerk and not att--err, forget that line.

Nah, Master Hand is probably intentionally vague so as to make sense for anyone to fight, as opposed to, say, Bowser, who was definitely a Mario enemy.

I always thought that Master Hand was Wario's hand, and Crazy Hand was Waluigi's.

Not a bad theory, to be honest. And let's not forget that the SSB series is developed by HAL Labs, the same second-party that developed the Kirby series...stands to reason they'd snouk up one of their own weird obscurities and toss it into the mix. Rare used to do that kind of thing all the time.

I always thought it was based off of Mario's glove, to be honest.

yeah, but how many of those hand cursors come to life after you make a selection? I can't think of any other than the one from the kirby game over screens.

and I actually agree with boo for once. since HAL labs makes both the smash games and the kirby games it would stand to reason that they actually might slip in something weird like that. not to mention that kirby regains his smash mooveset from, I think it's either a power up or an enemy, in one of his more recent games.
