Would they of done Mega Man justice?

Now I am not really dissapointed with the fact that in Brawl we got not just one, but two characters not owned by Nintendo, that's not what this topic is for. So please do not post about how Mega Man was not needed or bring up the usefulness/uselessness of Sonic and Snake.

Specifically, this is a topic bringing up the fact that Mega Man, his early life being entirely a nintendo exclusive, made him a third party character that very well could of been put into Brawl. The question is though, if they had put Mega Man into brawl, could they of done the blue bomber true credit?

Most characters only get a handful of moves, beyond smashes which are usually just punches, kicks, or standard weapon uses, there's special, up special, side special, and down special. Obviously regular special would of been his plasma cannon, and up special most likely would of been a third jump, probabaly utilizing Rush or some incarnation of a third jump, maybe the platforms from the original Mega Man. That leaves, however, only two more moves, and side special could easily just be Mega's slide.

Now in any of the first 8 Mega Man games (not including spin-offs, MM9, or Bass's game) there are 8 robot bosses (even in the first one, in a rerelease they added 2 new masters, Oil man and Time Man), that roughly means there are 64 different mega man weapons. 64 different weapons, that the deigners would be lucky to hadd 1-4 into the brawl game. Would it have really done Mega Man justice to leave out so much of his available weapons? I mean he was designed as a tool bot, and the fact that he could have so many weapons was his appeal . . .

If you agree, disagree, whatever, tell me why. I'm a littlw weary they could have done the blue bomber justice but maybe you think differently.

Works fine in Marvel Vs Capcom :v

(He uses Leaf shield and Tornado hold there, which is a sweet combination)

He could be executed well, sure, but I couldn't imagine Megaman being in both the Versus and Smash series.

His Smash's/Grab's could be the other Robo Master weapons, hell he might even borrow some of Proto's or X's moves.

Yeah, the Cutman power would make a good side smash.
Maybe the Down B could be a randomized selection from, say, 10 of the powers?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I was thinking something like that, except instead of swallowing, Mega Man would take the power of the last person he KOed. Though I feel a randomized down B would provide too much versatility for one character.

A rush adaptor would make a good Up B, much like the one from 6-7 where Rush is used as a rocket pack.

I was honestly thinking his down special would be a mode change, he'd 'blip' and change between four armor types based on the original megaman. Fireman armor, Iceman armor, and Elecman armor (and of course basic blue plasma). This would affect the normal special element type. (Electric, Ice, and Fire)

Look at Kirby. They included:
Hammer
Burning
Rock
Swallow
Sword

They left out:
Ice
Bomb
Missle
Cutter
Spike
Fighting
Electric
Fire
Cupid
Crash
Mike
Light
UFO
Wheel
Beam
Parsol

And that's just off the top of my head. If they could find a way around the problem of there being too many things to inlcude for Kirby, I'm sure they could find a way around the same problem for Mega Man.

Eh, but that's more an aspect of the Zero series. If they were to do Megaman, they should keep his moveset within that series of games.

^^Sword is his Up-B. Cutter is usually nothing like Kirby's Up-B.

I thin MegaMan could have worked well. I was thinking that B Down be his slide, and his B Side a random robot master weapon. Also, final smash could be dependent on who's currently winning the battle or something.

FINAL CUTTER is the name of that attack. And if you pause the game while using it, you can see it is clearly a sword, not the things Kirby throws while using cutter.

"Final cutter," meaning the final attack in Kirby's cutter combo, as seen in above video. The thing he holds, confusingly enough, is neither a throwing cutter nor a blade-knight sword, but looks like some combination of the two. However, the attack is undeniably fashioned after the "final" move of the "cutter" combo, right down to the forward-shooting shockwave.

Damn it I'm a geek.

On a new note: Why does everyone assume thet slide would be a special. It's a Smash at best.

How about a side dodge? I mean that's what it is, right?

No, I'm pretty sure the slide would just be a Dtilt.

I thought it'd be down B. Because that's usually how you use it in the games. Though, it could easily be used for something else.

Though, down B could be one of his many shields. Like, the Skull Shield...thing.

Also, I thought that there was a sword ability that did that thing. I MUST INVESTIGATE.

...and I'm wrong. I guess Up B is indeed Cutter. I guess it's the way that it's used in Kirby 64 that screwed me up...
