To follow up on how they put Ash in SSBB? How about Giovanni?

No I refuse to call him Red.

Anyways why not for the next add Giovanni, since Pokemon lacks a real villain character for the story mode, and Giovanni is a Bad@$$ villain.

Either Take the 3 of best of his Pokemon fomr the actual Gym battle in the game (Rhyhorn would have to be one, then possibly Gangaskan, both Nidoking and Nidoqueen would seem to repetitive, but perhaps one of the 2) or Homage the Anime and use Persian and/or Mewtwo (I do want Mewtwo back somehow for the next one, replacing him with Lucario really doesn't work for me).

My guess is they will use another character in this way if a 4th SSB is made, but just being one of the Rivals or something would seem to boring to me.

It'd be a rival, or a travel companion of Ash's, probably May.

Ash != Red, no matter how much you refuse to call him his real name.

Red is best known for his appearance in Gold/Silver/Crystal, as the completely silent psychopath who possessed an abnormally high levelled Pikachu and a snorlax so tough even Mewtwo couldn't kill it in one hit.

He also kept all his evolutions, unlike Ash, who, like an idiot, gave them away/set them free.

In short, Red would probably devastate Ash in a fight.

Which, by the way, becomes a Gym Leader in the games, replacing Giovanni. As opposed to his also wimpier anime counterpart, who became a scientist.

Unfortunately, I think if they drop a character for the next game, it's likely to be the Trainer.

Speaking of irrelevant stuff, does anybody think the guy in the "Chedda Gets Cheddar" ads looks like SML?

Jigglypuff isn't worth being playable, the problem is Kirby looking like Clefairy when he copy's Jigglypuff is one of the game's fun Easter Eggs.

If another trainer character of sorts was added, I believe it'd be a rival of some sort. I can't really see Giovanni appearing, despite his work behind the scenes.

Giovanni is cool. If he were to be in SSB, I'd like to see him with Persian, Rhydon and Nidoking.

He means that Red (Pokemon Trainer) in SSBB didn't have a Pikachu and that he already knows that Red has one in G/S/C. I think.

Anyway, that's just a given that he doesn't control a Pikachu in SSBB, seeing as Pikachu is a playable character.
