I know there are a lot of characters that people say should have been in Super Smash Bros. but what about the original vampire hunter, Simon Belmont? He's a classic character from a classing Nintendo franchise, Castlevania, that has stretched on from NES, SNES, N64, and even the Wii. Heck, Simon's been in fighting games on the Wii, and he certainly deserves a spot in the game. He's also got good moves, long reach whip, holy water, crosses . . . I think he would have been a good addition, anyone else have any opinions? His normal special would b his classic whip, which can even be directed a little when lashed out. Down special would be his Holy Water, throwing a short protectile that shatters and splashes. Forward special would be the cross, able to throw up to three that slice out then return to Simon. Not sure what Up Special would be . . . an up whip? Maybe chain whip? Final Smash: I was thinking Simon could use the red orb from Simon's Quest 2 to summon a massive twister that can traverse the map left and right slowly, anyone caught in the current takes damage as they spin, the more character trapped the more damage before it suddenly blasts any trapped characters out of the tornado. His mythos is supports a fighting game well, as evidenced by that Castlevania fighter they released. I assume it's a licensing issue, as Konami owns the IP for the character. HAL snuck in Kirby and Metaknight since they made the first SSB, the Fire Emblem and the rest got in because they're second-party developers for Nintendo, Snake got in because Kojima was totally cool, and Sonic got in because... I have no idea. |

After fleshing out some of my ideas, here's what I've come up with for a moveset: Normal attacks would be done with Simon's Axe, this would be the extent of his close attacks, as his special attacks would focus on attacking from a range. ALthough he doesn't throw the axe normally, his swings are usually arching slashes, an allusion to the axe's tragectory in the game. Special: Whip, Simon would able to use his signature whip to attack forward, striking close but doing more damage from the tip, like Zero Suit. He can attack straight forward, or tilt the whip upwards or downwards, and unlike Zero Suit his whip has a very quick release, as it doesn't have to be charged (its already there, it doesn't need to be shot like the hookshot or charged like the laser whip). Down Special: Holy Water, ducks before tossing out a low arch projectile, the Holy Water. Only covers a short distance, when it hits an enemy it breaks and burns, if it hits the ground it smashes against the surface and burns for a couple seconds. Does not break if it doesn't hit a surface. Forward Special: Cross Boomerang, throws out up to three cross boomerangs, first one straight forward, next at a lower start, and third at a higher starting point. Will travel out a short distance before returning, can only shoot out more once he collects one back. Up Special: Up Whip, Uses the whip to attack up in the air, again similiar to Zero Suit's attack but a little faster. However unlike attack like the hookshot or laser whip where it can attack to side and quickly reel up, Simon's whip does not reel. He can cling to sides but he has to actually climb up his whip, so it is a little slower to get back to the edge. Throw: Attacks with whip and wraps it around the enemy, before it swing the enemy to the floor, then whips them in the opposite direction. Up Throw: Attacks with whip, same as normal throw, swings enemy into the air and follows with the axe, throwing it as a high arching projectile to strike the enemy, only time he throws the axe. Down Throw: Attacks with the whip, same with the normal throw, pulls the enemy towards SImon and kicks him away, following with two daggers, throwing them at the enemy straight forward. This would be the only appearence of the daggers in the game. Final Smash: Simon would kneel before summoning the gem as he did in Simon's Quest 2, summoning a large twister around himself. It could be moved slowly left or right to try and trap the enemies, or Simon can stand still and rapidly press a button to increase the twister's intensity, doing more damage to anyone trapped in the tornado, but then he cannot move it. Anyone sucked in is caused damage, more damage if the twister is being powered up by Simon, before it blasts them straight up, and potentially off the map. Obviously the higher the twister is started (from a high surface) or if the enemy has more damage determines a better chance of being blown off the map. |

It's because we hate his filthy, filthy guts, and we want to forget he ever existed. ![]() Last edited by Booyakasha; 11-11-2009 at 06:46 PM. |

Though I'd also like to see a Tetra costume for Zelda, Wolf Link as an alt form alla Sheik, more Earthbound characters, Minda(either playable or as part of Wolf Link's moveset/ final Smash.) and have Tingle replace the sandbag. Though I doubt any of that would happen. - You stupid dog. |

That, and we DID complain, but it's a little late now for anybody to say anything. |

I said Dante because we need more badasses with swords. Hell, for a total of four we should have Dante, Link, Ike, and maybe Raiden (since Snake was in SSBB this isn't out of the realm of possibilities). Only problem with Dante is he's hardly made an appearance on a Nintendo system. In fact, the only one he's been in which I remember is SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS. But hopefully the technicality will stand and they'll let him in. Or release a damned DMC game on a Nintendo system. |

Maybe Ryu. I'm still waiting for Marina Liteyears, though. |

It doesn't matter who's in if there's always going to be 3 cheap ones who make playing the others pointless. |

Simon and Mega Man I think both deserve in the game, more than third parties anyway, I mean they grew up on the Nintendo, they were all about the NES in their times, the Mega Man 1-6 and Castlevania Trilogy. Quote:

I'll have to tone it down, otherwise you might have to resort to increasingly irrelevant straw men to save yourself from them. |

Ace, Sonic was put in due to popular vote. And Mega Man would be pretty cool, I guess. __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |

Little Mac: Not enough moves Mega Man: Too many moves That's not to say I don't want to see them playable. |
