If that much. :/ Mostly it was the controls/controller I think. The GC controller is SOO much better than the n64...and alot of other game controllers for that matter (IMO). I like Brawl alot, but I'm not sure exactly. I don't really enjoy it much more than I do/did Melee. I like them both essentially equally though. Shifts, but yeah I'll just say I like them both. meh. :/ *shrug* So Melee and Brawl I guess. ^_^ Last edited by Vgfian; 01-11-2011 at 05:57 AM. |

Melee was incredibly fun, and I feel it was more competitive than Brawl. Brawl is by far the best party game, but Melee (albeit still a Party Game) is more of a Fighting game, which I can appreciate. |

However the specific reasons for me included: The whole smash brothers concept was new and fresh. The impacts and explosions were awesome in the first one. Compare Link's bombs in the first game to the later ones. Same goes for bob ombs and virtually every other explosive in the game, especially The Paunch. Speaking of the paunch, it rocked in this game and sucked in the newer ones. While this was perhaps necessary due to CF being OP, it still sucked to see the pitiful paunches in melee and brawl. I guess it can be summed up by saying the first game had a feel to it that the sequels never nailed. Everything was crunchy and satisfying, with major oomph behind it. Melee and Brawl just felt weaker (though I love both those titles as well). The newer ones feel so similar that I give Brawl the nod, due to more content and the lack of the effing, effing red shell. *shakes old man cane angrily* Last edited by Fairlight Excalibur; 01-11-2011 at 02:39 AM. |

Whenever I play 64 I always to air or spot dodge at least once. In fact, in our newest "Glux v Marchie" we BOTH tried to air dodge. Ledge grabbing: In 64, the rule is "If you're not FACING the edge, you don't GRAB the edge." This. Sucks. But before Melee existed, these things were never heard of. You can't miss what you never had. |
