Item of the Month #1: NOT a lightsaber

BEAM SWORD

Source: Star Wars Super Smash Bros.
Featured in: All 3 games.
Type: Clobbering
Special effect: None

Trivia:
--Throws the farthest of all clobbering items.
--In Melee, appeared as a shortened version which extended upon first swing.
--In Brawl, appeared similar as in Melee, except the blade length changes based on the character & which attack (normal, tilt, smash, dash) is being used.
--VERY blatantly based on Lucasian lightsabers, especially considering the sound effects.

Very fun to use. Very fun to figure out how to evade. Very fun to let Marth take so that his normal quick-blade madness is disabled.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Beam sword is pretty awesome. I tend to just throw them, though---I'm too accustomed to my mains' vanilla movesets for the beam-sword A-attacks to quite gel, if that makes sense.

Beam swords are fun to throw. Almost as fun as home run bats.

I will agree, though most of my item throwing usually is reserved for when an opponent has been knocked most of the way off stage. Then I try to toss this at him to make him lose one of his jumps to get back to the board. X)

Ah, the classic laser sword. And it is good. We need more sword weapons in SSB4.

I like to smash with it in Brawl, but I usually threw it in Melee.

Interestingly, I do the inverse with the Home-Run Bat xD

Nothing compares to that feeling when you smash a player with the homerun bat.

Especially when they see it coming

This. The Home-Run Bat really was nerfed in Brawl.

I usually just throw items like this at people. It's a bad habit.
