Stage of the Month #2: Mushroom Kingdom (N64)

MUSHROOM KINGDOM
Featured in: SSB64
Source series: Super Mario Bros.
Home characters: None

Availability: Secret
-Unlock: Complete 1-P Mode with all 8 starter characters & fight Vs. matches on all 8 starter stages.
Type: Sedentary
Hazards: Piranha Plants, POW Block, Warp Pipe, Scales

Music:
"SMB1 Ground Theme"

Trivia:
--This was the only stage in SSB64 with no side pits. It was also the only stage in the game to use original-source music, rather than a remix.

When I downloaded Stage Studio, the FIRST thing I did was rebuild Mushroom Kingdom (such as I could with Brawl's parts). Loved this stage. Luigi owns the hell out of this stage. Yeah.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Despite the walk-offs, it's one of my favorite stages. Hell, if there were no chaingrabs, and you weren't playing Ness(counterpicking stages is fair for it being banned in that situation), I'd love for this to be always available.

Now if only you could fight on it in Single Player. Also, those Piranha Plants bite.

Best level ever.

The SSBM version wasn't as cool.

The one issue I had was with the stage-right blast line; players could actually land past the line & start walking back before suddenly dying.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

That's why you shouldn't Moonwalk.

OH STEALTH KO

The POW Block makes the level for me.

The warp pipes were pretty nifty, too.

It's also the easiest level to witness Jigglypuff's broken-shield dizzy animation.

I loved this level, if only because I used to spend a few minutes going up and down the pipes.

Sometimes coming out the one on the bottom of the stage. but it was all in good fun, truly.

Great level for egg-spamming.

...granted, every level in SSB was great for egg-spamming...
