Trivia: --Named after Benjamin Franklin. --In Mother 1, the Franklin Badge will only reflect PK Beam Gamma. However, since that attack is a one-hit kill, immunity to it is a definite advantage. Also, there are two badges in the game: One is given to Ninten by Pippi, & the other can be found in Merrysville. --In Earthbound, the sole Badge is given to Ness by Paula, & its function has changed to reflecting any lighting-type attack, including all levels of PK Thunder. --In Mother 3, the Badge's effect is the same, but you have it sooner than you realize... Flint gives Lucas a family heirloom, the tarnished "Courage Badge". After rescuing Saturn Valley, a Mr. Saturn will take the badge & clean it for you, eventually returning it as the now-functional Franklin Badge. This becomes very plot-relevant when the unmasked Claus uses the Badge to commit suicide, shooting lightning at Lucas knowing full well what will happen. This can be a lifesaver on certain Subspace Emissary levels. Since it's barely noticeable on the character, it's actually pretty effective in brawls, too. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
