last.fm

I like Pandora and all, but in the past few days of using last, I've gotten much more music that I haven't heard, which is what I want.

Also, Pandora doesn't play nearly as much Stephen Malkmus as Last.

"We had a coding error"

Well, I'm off to a bad start.

EDIT: Been listening for the last half hour. This site is even better than the pirate version my room mate uses and has a far wider range of music than Pandora.

coding errors are there a lot on the site. There's a desktop app you can get that works much better.

Once it works, god damn it awesome.

I asked for a Real McKenzies station and in the last five songs it has played
Flogging Molly - Black Friday Rule
Young Dubliners - Banshee
Белфаст - Братва из графства АДЪ
Black 47 - Fire of Freedom
St. Bulmiller's Choir

Only one of which I already knew about.

Yeah, my ex-girlfriend pointed this out to me awhile ago (seems like ages now), it's really useful for finding new stuff.

I'm a big ignorant of the site, but I've been curious about it ever since I noticed my band has a profile on it.

How do you guys find new music through it?

It'll have you put in an artist name, and they'll give you a station of that artist and similar artists.

Example: With Interpol Radio, I got Kings of Leon, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Franz Ferdinand, and Blonde Redhead. With some artists I wasn't really aware of such as Elefant, Stellastarr, and The Rakes put in as well.
