Because he deserves a topic--he is, after all, the only Mario character insane enough to think he could win by dancing against Mario.

Not to mention he can pitch baseballs which make people throw up, swim through air, and drives futuristic war vehicles in Kart races.

Some may disagree, but that's why he rules--he can get a lot of people angry, really fast. On the other hand, how many Mario characters can get such strong reactions? I'm looking at you, Mr. neutral-reaction-causing Toad.

And he's not even made by Mario--he was made by Camelot. How many sports game characters have managed to get semi-important positions in other, unrelated games? Few.

So whether you hate him or not, one has to see that at least he's an absurd Snidely Whiplash stereotype that somehow got mixed up in Mario.
