On the other hand, the less you shower the more I am able to shower without wasting too much of our water resources. Thank you. |

These are typically the kids I have to pull aside for a hygiene lecture halfway through the summer, because the odor they emit is pungent enough to refract light. |

I mean, four weeks is a bit excessive without bathing, buuuut you are being incredibly sustainable and eco-friendly. So good for you. ![]() Though, I'd probably recommend Ace's suggestion: at least rinse off more often than four weeks at a time. Soaps are not always good for you (and actually, you shouldn't wash your hair that often because shampoos strip away natural oils in your hair that are good for your hair and scalp), but rinsing does help with odor/dead skin tissue/dirt/etc. Anyway, my recommendation would be to at least rinse off on a more regular basis, but I commend you for at least being more green. ![]() |

Thus, I can get away without having to shower every day. However, after a week or so, I start to feel like all the sweat that's dried to my skin starts to turn to grease, and that's when I know I need a shower. I usually shower anywhere between 4-6 days. |

Sometimes I'm too lazy to do so but those are on weekends when i have absolutely no chance of seeing any of my friends and absolutely no chance of going anywhere. If I go too long without a shower I feel really awful and need to take one right away. plus i get sick a lot and they're soooo relaxing. |

![]() Also, all of those things you listed are actually quite menial compared to the hundreds of gallons of water saved by not showering. You're trying to make up for it by wasting more time, energy, and money, but you still outdo your sabotage regardless. ![]() | ||

Besides, I don't like being called "green"; not if it's going to lump me in with the disciples of Al Gore. But whatever. If you're that determined to find a thin shaft of environmentally friendly light in something as oddball as my showering schedule, I won't belabor the issue. |

MMario, I believe that SD and I (and Bomby, and Andre and Dylan) already had a thread in which we made plenty of suggestions about how to meet people. Don't be discouraged, but maybe try branching out a trying a few of them you haven't already. ![]() |

| *Admin* "mine.. not yours. NO. MINE." Epic Ladynerd Join Date: Jul 2000 Location: Forteresse de Valois Gender: Posts: 28,199 Thanks: 1,510 Thanked 1,719 Times in 993 Posts | To be perfectly frank, things like an insensitive sense of smell are often familial. If you don't have fully functioning scent receptors, it's very possible that neither do your parents, meaning none of you are necessarily a good judge of possible odors. For entirely other reasons you should aim at bathing more frequently. Once a week should do you just fine if you're really that disinterested in overcoming your aversion to the shower. In terms of hygiene, as long as you're fastidious about maintaining your health in other ways (washing your hands, general cleanliness, etc), you should be okay. More people should look into reducing the amount of water they use, either by taking shorter showers, or even skipping a shower once a week ("cat baths" are fine if you need to freshen up). It will do an absolute world of good for sustainability. Not to mention we would instantly be reducing the amount of soap and other bathroom products used, and their packaging. Awesome. ![]() |
