Unless I stop myself or something. Ever since I was little I've plagued people with hour+ monologues, whether or not they were listening--and when they weren't, I'd begin talking to myself anyway, making it even more boring. It's like being one of those grandparents who goes on and on about some tale until the person listening to it is asleep, or like being Mr. Resetti. I mean, it doesn't bother me so much that people don't listen, but I wish I could turn it off somehow. Of course, in thinking about it in this post I am compelled to post more and more about it until the entire post field explodes from so much verbage, but I have the power to leave it off at pressing the submit power... at least, at message boards. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | It's something I kind of notice in people, in general. People just don't like awkward silence, but often mistake regular silence as awkward. For example, during job interviews, sometimes it's okay for some dead air to float across the room; maybe you're crafting a sentence, maybe he's taking notes. Once there's no one talking, though, the interviewee takes that as a bad thing, somehow, and starts talking about his hamster or whatever inane things. |
