ABC screwed Lost over with wacky scheduling. __________________ I can do anything that a 9-year-old and a monkey can do. |

| Super Bodyguard & King of the Arcade | ^ ^ That's not true, not to mention the fact that Heroes was on a downswing before the strike (15% ratings drop in the second season, the first season also paled in comparison to Lost's first season). The fall finale this year had just under 11 million viewers - that's lower than Lost's lowest rated episode - whereas Lost's third season finale had over 14 million viewers. Even if you compare the two shows directly it's no contest...it averaged 15.5 million viewers in its second season. Given the trend of serial dramas declining in viewership because people have a hard time "keeping up" with the story, Heroes seems destined to stay in the shadow of Lost. Oh yeah, and Lost is one of the most DVR-ed shows out there...if you factor that in it gets an 18-24% boost. (Only House does better I believe) |

| Gunjinkeeper | Is House affected by this? Doesn't seem like it, but hey, I have no idea. I don't watch much TV anymore, save for House. |

The further delaying of shows I don't watch isn't a big tragedy--on the other hand, I feel for the poor people, who have to go on strike with this to get rights to decent royalties. Of course, it may effect Star Gate Atlantis, but there's always all the millions of SG1 episodes and Atlantis ones I haven't seen yet... |

In the fall, Heroes fell a couple million, but then again, that was in line with the second half of Lost season 3, which was hovering at/near series lows, with the exception of the finale. Lost and Heroes are tied at #1 for the most time shifted programs of 2007 at 17.6%. It'll be interesting to see how Lost does in its new timeslot. It's definitely a very good timeslot, but also a very overcrowded one. If nothing else, the good news is it's not up against Idol. However, for half the season, Idol is a lead-in to whatever Fox decides to drop into the 9PM time. CSI does well both first run and rerun. Celebrity Apprentice doesn't look like much of a threat since they've killed that with a series of ridiculous decisions. All scripted shows are affected by the strike. __________________ I can do anything that a 9-year-old and a monkey can do. Last edited by Ynot Shane; 12-22-2007 at 06:15 PM. |
