Yeah generally updating sucks IMO. Like for instance when I updated to Java 6 some of my programs got effed up(though I guess that's the program's fault for not getting up to date with java). I don't like IE 7.0 either(In fact I was never prompted for IE 7 on my desktop lol). I don't like Aim 6.0, so I never updated (just more advertisements and crap to me). I liked Ad-aware 6.0 but I had to dl Ad-Aware 2007 that basically has the same features as Ad-aware 6.0 but runs slower. I have Microsoft 2003 since 2007 is probably the same except for maybe like different drop down menus or something.

Lol anyway back on topic: yeah I guess Firefox gets the job afterall. Though I usually have to use IE7 to get microsoft updates. But I heard there's a site that allows firefox users to get the updates?

Yeah sorry for the massive run on sentence(s). I'm tired, thus lazy.

Under Tools Go into your internet options and on the first tab click on Fonts at the bottom. That should help you get your fonts resized. IE 7 isn't that bad. It's just a bit different. They finally got rid of the tabs all being up top and it actually looks more visually pleasing. Idk I just got used to IE 7 after I got my new computer. Downgrading to IE 6 or back to firefox would now seem weird to me and less visually pleasing.

Basically as I gather it the entire browser is becoming a search portal, and due to Mozilla Inc's business model that search will be Google.

Pardon me for still not getting what you mean; I'm not trying to be obtuse. How do you mean the browser is becoming a search portal?

^Do you mean how everytime you put in an address in the address bar it'll redirect you to a search on google if the site doesn't exist or if the full address wasn't typed?

On the one hand, I prefer IE7's functionality.
On the other hand, I prefer Firefox's layout.

I'm pretty sure there's a add-on for Firefox which does anything IE7 can do, and do it better.

I like some of the things that you can do with IE7, but I have found a few problems with it. Beyond randomly shutting down the window or going nuts all at once its been working fine for me.

Well, considering IE7 is designed to imitate Firefox as much as possible, my real problem is just in the way Firefox's controls work. IE7 actually does tabs better, and Mozilla doesn't seem to realize that sometimes the Stop button is useful when they have it greyed out. Plus, for some reason the scroll button works differently in Firefox than it does in everything else.

The only real difference between firefox and internet explorer is the amount of security flaws. Firefox has 5 security flaws as of right now and internet explorer has 7. These security flaws are next to impossible to hack apparently so they haven't begun work to fix them quite yet. You guys keep going on about "layouts" and "functionality". They both do the same stuff, but you do need internet explorer if you are running windows. There's some things that firefox will just never be able to do such as windows updates and certain websites.
