^Agreed. If you're not in the immediate city, it's just mountains and farmland.

CSM's a U of M fan, AI. The first rule of being a Michigan fan is to hate Ohio State and everything to do with it.

^That and I actually have driven across Ohio and found it to be nothing special.

Andre: Unfortunately the people with the real power in Bama come from places like Auburn and Tuscaloosa (why else do you think Tuscaloosa got Katrina tax breaks to build luxury condos instead of places like Biloxi, MS or New Orleans that actually need damage repair). -CSM

If Colorado is so damn great, why does the majority of it's population migrate northword to Wyoming each spring and summer?

Actually Birmingham holds a lot of power in the state politically. Well, it did until Langford got re-elected, it's like the 04 Election on a smaller scale: People knew this guy wasn't a great leader, but we re-elected him anyway.

Recreation wise, Tusc and Auburn get money because they're solely college towns. Birmingham has two colleges along with the 10th most dangerous city in the US, that's a hard thing to balance.

^And considering that even in Georgia, rural senators only get support if they speak out against concerns by Atlantans, in Alabama it's probably ten times worse. -CSM

Actually many South GA issues get handled, the reason they seem "overshadowed" is because if you add up the population of the counties in South Georgia and compare them with Fulton, Gwinnett and Dekalb, then it's not even close.

As far as Alabama goes, it's as if Birmingham is cut off from the rest because it has it's own problems.

Cities are all the same, especially the bigger they get. They smell awful, they're over-crowded with the worst kinds of people, they scream constant advertising at you no matter where you go, there's nowhere you can go without there being a roar of noise, even at night (and that's not even half of the problems). All these things make the major cities of the world really boring. They're all the same.

You've only been to certain parts of Ohio, and not the ones worth seeing, I'm sure.

^Well, out in the country, they pretty much have the same things over and over again: chain stores and big box stores. No independent businesses and fresh food. And what's even worse, you're FORCED to have a car in most places. Wouldn't you rather have the choice as to whether you can own a car or not (question mark) I personally have a HUGE problem with cars, since they're a hassle and they're expensive. -CSM

I don't care for stores. I don't go into them unless I require something, so that doesn't factor into my experience of a place at all. Outside of the cities... now, there are mountains/hills, trees, forests, wide open spaces where there's no one in sight. Silence. Animals wandering in the wild. Stars at night.

I don't drive, though I do own a car (I never got my license and don't really intend to, either). That said, I would be just as happy to take the bus/train outside of the city, or use a bike. I have no problems riding, or even walking, long distances. And I'd rather have my own car than jam myself onto the inner city train to get anywhere.

Don't speak unless you know what you're talking about. It could be because the Gulf Opportunity Zone was designed to help three of the ****tiest states in the Union

The bulk of the GO Zone program consists of tax-exempt bonds which are obtained by a company and then sold on the private market to investors, which is useless if the market has no confidence in the area and won't invest there.

Southern California is the closest thing you can get to being in Mexico, without actually being in Mexico.
Around almost every corner there is a Taco Shop, 99% of our **** is Bootleg, theres like this shop that sells like Shoes that would cost you like 100 bucks or more, they sell them to you for like 10 bucks.

I love Cali, born and raised in Cali, only other city I would ever wanna visit is NYC.
