Xbox 360: Xbox Division FINALLY Reports Profitable Year They've had profitable quarters before. The big problem last year was the warranty extension from their piss-poor system hardware design. Outside of that, they were looking at profitability from longterm after the outset of the XB1, mainly since they were trying to aggressively expand into a relatively closed off industry. Idea being if you develop a brand and lose millions early by slamming into the industry with marketing, you'll make it back with brand loyalty. Quote:

And I've never really liked the first timesplitters to much(I've never played 2 or 3 though),but back to topic. I used to be a graphics whore, but I now go by all three factors.(graphics,story,gameplay). |

| Senior Member | Personally, I really don't give a damn about graphics. I'd like a game just as much if it were on the NES. The important things to me are controls, difficulty, plot, and adventure-to-combat ratio (mainly for action games). |

| Cooler than you and you ****ing know it. | I don't think that there are people who "ONLY CARE ABOUT TEH GRAPHIX." There are people who care about graphics more than others. There are people who would like their game to look better than the others. Nobody is going to buy a game that they think that they'll dislike just because it has better graphics, and nobody is going to skip a game that they think they'll probably like just because its graphics aren't as good. |

I also forgot to mention that I also go by sound(including music). |

| The Super Mario Galaxy Final Bowser Fight music is the mest VGM music EVAR | I don't really care about the Graphics or Plot. If I think it's fun, I play it. Simple as that. |

If the graphics are unappealing, this impacts your enjoyment the same way that bad music would. It's not complicated, good graphics are actually essential. At the core Gameplay is the most important aspect of a good game, but that by no means does that excuse what you see on screen. The visuals help create the atmosphere for you to get caught up in a game. The better the graphics, the more distinguishable on screen objects are, which in turn makes the gameplay more engrossing. Like I said, all this can be applied to Audio as well. The topic creator is just referring to Graphics-whores, the kind of ignorant (usually teenage) gamer that dismisses old school games in particular because they aren't FPS HALO 0WNZOME! YEAH Plot has never been essential to video games, unless the emphasis and gameplay is driven by the plot, such as in RPGs. Who ever liked Mario and Sonic games because of their plots?? |

| VGF's Resident Lennonist | Everyone knows, the worse plot the video game has, the better game play. Proof: Final Fantasy Legend (actually I've never played it, but some comedienne I saw on Comedy Central like two years ago had a really hilarious routine about it) |
