Whenever I try to open it I get like 1000 windows popping up and it takes me like 5 minutes to get it to stop.

Settings: notifications: uncheck display notifications.

Make sure you don't have any quirky plugins either.

If problems persist, uninstall and reinstall. If problems still persist, uninstall and d/l Trillian.

My favorite was dead aim, but I was never able to successfully get it to work on my new com.

But yeah I won't use aim 6.0 if I don't have to. Generally I find newer versions of software as extra unneeded disk space with new unneeded tools (such as video advertisements on aim).
