The omnipresence of Twitter references in the media

It's nice that you've finally figured out how to use that darned internet contraption that all the kids use to communicate with each other. I bet you think reading peoples' "tweets" (and I shudder to use that term) makes your news program so much more hip, don't you? Nobody cares.

Celebrities and media using Twitter is really the only reason I can think of the site existing in the first place. Regular people using Twitter makes me laugh, since nobody would care about them.

But you're right, the media is making a crazy big deal out of it.

I've always thought that the term should be "twitting"

90% of Twitter's posts are made by 10% of it's "users". But no one seems to care about that stat. >_<

Y-O-U's Twitter is identical to its lead singer's Facebook status (not to mention explained in even better detail by their actual website), so guess which I prefer to see?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Conan O'Brien's 'twitter-tracker' cleverly lampoons the use of celebrity 'tweeting'. Check it out sometime.

I hate Twitter.

Twitter is famous because there aren't any sexual assault cases revolving around it yet.

Also "WE ARE HIP. WE ARE USING TEH INTERNETZ HAHAHA."

It's like all those other fancy contraptions nobody needs.

Back in my day, we bumped around a bunch of sites with animated gifs, reading Gameshark cheats for Pokemon and posting 1-line battling posts in the Nintendoland forum!

And we liked it!

Heck, Twitter's just ripping off my old battling style. ;p

It's the 24-hour news cycle. There just isn't 24 hours worth of news happening in the world (that people care about), so they have to fill it up somehow. The evening or weekly news doesn't report on it, except perhaps on how other people are reporting on it.

Twitter drives me crazy. I just don't get it. And, the way that people inflate it in the media drives me crazy because I know most of these people talking about it are not at all familiar with the internet and are giving Twitter credit for things that have been around WAY longer. That said, I just entered the Twitter contest on this page: HivePals - Real people, real feedback Seemed like it was an easy thing to do (tweet one reply to them, win $15 worth of iTunes if yours is picked).
