God, what have cartoon creators been up to these days? I mean, I watch The Simpsons, and that's a show for teenagers. I HAVE SIX SEASONS OF IT, FOR GOD SAKE! Anyway, back on topic. Disney's been coming up with some sshows. Or should I say, SUCKISH shows? These new made in 2009/2008 shows HAVE got to go. WTF? Zeke and Luther? Disney XD's practically a huge trash pile. It's scary, I know. |

It started to show Batman TAS, Superman TAS, with the addition of stuff like Duck Tales, Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Tailspin. Then, we get "DISNEY XD, LOL THIS IS SO COOL AND IT'S FOR BOYZ" The only good thing on there is Spectacular Spiderman. |

That's the rule. The main problem with Animation or "Cartoons" per se is that people don't take it seriously. Sure I know, there are plenty of stuff that's "not for kids" or is actually trying to deliver a message without coming across as pretentious waffle, but the main thing is that the right people don't take it seriously, and there are plenty of people who think animation is just for kids and has no appeal otherwise. I have been told "aren't you a bit old to be watching that?" when watching Read or Die dubbed, and not three seconds after my mom said that did a character yell "YOU B*TCH!!". Yeah, then they found out that there could be such thing as animation that wasn't for kids and for kids only and actually cover more serious stuff. They don't HAVE to be sitcoms...animation can tell a story that couldn't be acted out by actors in real life, or exactly what was in the animators' eyes. There are some things you can do with animation that you just can't with people, good-CG-I or rubbery CG-I. Of course nothing can beat Nostalgia for any determining quality factor for some shows. My mom's brothers actually liked Tom Slick yet she'll tell you that show as utter crap to her. |

Back when, the expensive costs of animation forced idiot writers to look elsewhere for their schlock. |

The writers seem to think of the kids as total morons or something. We used to have actual professionals making our entertainment, back in the 90's, and even a lot of that was crap. At least it wasn't all effing vector animation, though. Flash looks like ass, and everyone should get over it. |

(Compare 101 Dalmations to later films...notice it looks al itle more "scratchy" and "Sketchy") Why hire 100 people to work on a xeroxing budget when you can cut costs by hiring 10 people to work on flash? I still think that they're missing a lot of potential stuff with the HD technology. Anyone ever see Sleeping Beauty in HD? The backgroudns are hand-painted and seriously, there's a lot of potential with HD and hand-painted bakcgrounds. |
