Also, earlier today my Antivirus software suddenly said it had averted 3 Spyware crises today. I think Panfan's viruses were somehow contagious. Dammit | |

Your only choice is to nuke the site from orbit*, it's the only way to make sure. --- * by this, I mean format and re-install your OS |

That'll get rid of all my music and files and stuff, yes? the thing is i'd assume system restore would work, but it seems not to be working. I click on "next" to begin it, but it won't go through. |

Once Ubuntu has loaded, then you can use the Linux interface to copy the files to a USB key or something, then after that you can do the wipe. Before you connect the USB key to your computer after the wipe, though, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE VIRUS SCANNERS AND SPYWARE PROTECTION. The malware could have infested the USB's files, so you should immediately scan them. |

If you can grab all of your MP3s and documents, put them on an external drive and then wipe your computer clean. Remember to get things like bookmarks, game saves, and other irreplaceables first. This will work well assuming that you know how not to get infected next time. The easiest way is to not run Windows (use Ubuntu instead), or at least not run Internet Explorer (use Firefox instead). |

Just because you don't see anything doesn't mean they're not tracking your surfing, silently redirecting web pages, or sending personal info to God-knows-where. I'd check your hosts file, your registry, and your startup apps before saying that everything's okay =/ |

Yeah, viruses and spyware are a bitch |
