I'm going to aks you a question...

Does it piss you off when people say "aks" instead of "ask"?

Not really, I've been around it my whole life.

One time in 3rd grade the teacher's assistant asked us to spell "aks," on a spelling test so I spelled it "ax"...I'm pretty sure I failed that test...

I had a friend who said that all the time when I was a kid. I got used to it.

No, because (1.) I never pay that close attention when someone's talking, and (2.) most of the time I don't notice when they spell it wrong. I had to read the title twice before noticing.

I just imagine the person is about to slam a battle axe into my head.

And that's awesome.

What really bothers me is people saying "anyways" instead of "anyway,"' mostly due to the fact that I said the former until it was pointed out to me and started the long, arduous process of reprogramming my mouth to say the latter instead.

I've never seen it spelled "aks"; when that pronunciation is being implied, everyone I've ever seen uses "axe".

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

No, I find it silly to get angry because someone has a different dialect, or object to a pronounciation because it's non-standard. I tend to take a descriptivist view on these things.

This is another one.

I'm an English major, though, so I kind of tend to be a little obnoxious when it comes to stuff like this.
