Actually, teachers and other authority figures tend to get more upset when the meek kid turns on the bully and starts fighting back. They really have a thing for the "natural pecking order".

Physically fighting back is almost always the best way to get things resolved. Give a bully a good kick in the balls and he'll never bother you again. It's the only language those neanderthals understand.

It is true--bullies only left me alone after I went psycho on them and punched them. My school's administration was more concerned in leaving the pecking order alone, so I had to take matters into my own hands.

You say this like telling parents or the teachers actually accomplishes more than "Just ignore them" or getting them to up the offense on the "Tattletale". Only once have I actually seen a teacher who was told what was going on actually get up and TRY and do something about it other than just say "oh just ignore them, they'll eventually get bored". And even then, guess what the bullies did?

Just walke to the other side of the room and continued to bother someone else. It ALWAYS happened if you "ignored" them...they either decided to find someone else so you would think you're in the clear or would just try upping the offense. I have to wonder how this kid in my school found it so easy to resist simply turning around and clubbing the person behind him in the face with a heavy hardcover history book, he was told to "ignore" the dip**** sitting behind him and all teh dip**** did was just start finding new ways. By the end of the quarter, the assmunch was drawing offensive pictures like penises and cuss words on the back of his neck in sharpie and snipping hair from the back of his head with construction scissors. (While the victim got suspended for having that kind of stuff on his neck.)
So the teacher moved his seat...guess what he did next? The bully then started to torment the girl sitting in front of him. :| Yes, ignoring works SO WELL!!!!

It's because someone has to be blamed whenever a kid's turning and fighting back on the bully because he's sick of being told to "just ignore the ****hole" when it works as well as ordering the sahara to stop being so dry. And maybe we should blame the teachers, hm? Were they not watching it? I mean, we're getting all SORTS of negative publicity when we find out about a kid who got so frustrated he keyed a tormentor.

They tried to suspend me for kicking the guy who tried to choke me to death. That is, kicking that guy in the groin, thus saving my life.

My Mom yelled at them and they dropped that idea real fast.

Personally, if I have children and things like that happen, I'll just teach my child fighting moves and tell them "If they hit you, hit them back until they stop." As for insults, walking away in the direction of a yard monitor has a 15% chance of working. But it's worth a try.

And yeah, there is the option of violence, but the rumors of violence are usually just as good. There are some points where I think I would've gotten in fights at school, but mostly the other side didn't have the guts to start anything. Then again, I had a friend or two who'd had enough, and when some little weasel said something to him about his girlfriend, he pinned the kid to the wall and wouldn't stop punching until someone pried him off.

But really, your best bet is to not give a ****. Hell, make fun of them for anything you can. Someone calls you a fag, tell them you didn't hear them complaining while they were sucking your dick last night.

Oh christ I actually just watched that video. HEAR THAT BULLIES? THE CHICK WITH THE LANTERN-LIKE CHIN DOESN'T THINK YOU'RE COOL. Yeah, I'm sure this'll solve all of everyone's problems.
