That happened to me in Persona 3. I spent like a zillion yen getting new armor and weapons for that one guy for an upcoming boss battle, and he goes and dies. WTF, dude. D}:<

Yeah, that's true. I have a feeling all of the Blackest Night deaths are temporary, anyway. At least some of them.
