I know they're supposed to be like beauty pageants for little girls, but for some reason it always feels like I'm watching a human dog show.

You mean the ones where little girls are made to look by 7 yearolds and the moms spend thousands of dollars not to fulfill the little girls dreams but to fulfill their own and exploit their children for attention and their husbands would beat the **** out of them if they knew how much money was wasted on all that ****? Yeah, I hate them too.

Every now and then, someone on the internet mentions something from Japan like used-underwear vending machines and wacky genitalia festivals. Lolling and roffles soon follow, and people generally roll their eyes and say "Oh, that wacky crazy Japan! They're so crazy over there!"

There are plenty of instances which the Western world is crazy. Example: child beauty pageants.

As for used panty vending machines, they sound ~~pretty awesome~~ pretty unsanitary.

Yeah, but they did provide basis for the movie Little Miss Sunshine, which I love, so they at least have that going for them.

Unfortunately, they then have every single other reasonable force in the universe going against them, so...
