For the record, I live off-campus, so this thankfully wasn't as scary as it would be for those out-of-state students with no family in town. And you can probably tell that I got Pneumonia and spent the last four days trying not to freeze to death in a 70F room or hack a lung out. HOORAY!!! Well I'm thankfully not as bad as I was on Saturday or Sunday, but I still really shouldn't be walking around Campus. Unfortunately college has no Sick Days unless you can get a hold of the professor so FFFFF. Thankfully, my Art and Entomology professors responded to my email and said, "here, read these pages in the book when you're feeling better, that's what we covered in lecture today, get well soon". Supposedly for my landscape plants class (which I REALLY shouldn't have gone to with pneumonia given how much I ran out of breath while walking) I'd have had to tell the professor a week in advance (...wth?) before he'd flat-out excuse any absences. yay great...but my ecology professor is just...ugggh So I email her (Using her work email, which we were told to do in case something like this happened) on Friday after I get back from Urgent Care that I might not be able to make Tuesday's class....I get no response. I email the TA, they respond with "...I haven't seen her since Thursday...I'll try and contact her for you" almost instantaneously. Supposedly, she seemed to have vanished off the face of the Earth for the entire weekend and Monday since nobody seemed to be able to get a hold of her and nobody knew her home phone number. Finally she responds to me at like 6 AM this morning saying "Oh, you should have told me around Friday that you couldn't make the lecture, we have an in-class activity and it's too late to excuse missing students or schedule a make-up". FFFFF - The eMail message I sent you was DATED Friday! Well on the bright side, the TA was REALLY good. She was trying her hardest to find out where the professor was all weekend (still not having found out whether she vanished for a personal reason such as family or not as of now) and had told her about me and some other students who had Swine Flu and emailed in. And I at least survived the Plant walk with no fainting so I know I'm getting better. Last edited by Sim Kid; 03-02-2010 at 02:45 PM. Reason: edit: whoa text wall |

If you act a little calmer or even present a doctor's note (Which I did), then they're a little more sympathetic. The TA still was really good. Said TA asked if I was Sim kid, then walked up to the professor and she actually came over and asked if I was okay to complete the activity. |
