Why can't headphones stay together more then three months?

Seriously, I haven't had a pair last me more then that.

The longest I've ever had a pair was almost a year and they were those big ass on ear ones that you can't get anymore.

All I can find now are earbuds and I haven't had a pair of those for more then three months at a time.

Sucks since I really don't need to be pissing away 14 - 20 dollars every few months.

Either you destroy them or you're buying extremely cheap headphones. Spring for some good ones.

I have a pair of industrial earmuffs and some earbuds. Those've worked really good for the past winter, and they're the world cheapest passive noise-cancelling earphones.

For some reason I thought the title was "Why can't people stay together more than three months?" and the poster was SD, and I thought "HOLY ****, SD AND AI ARE BREAKING UP?"

Yeah, I break headphones all the time. No matter how well I take care of them, some freak accident almost always occurs. I have one pair of ****ty backup headphones I save to use when my good ones (inevitably) take a **** and die. Never fun.

I threw out a lot of money on some suposedly good headphones, they have worked great so far, but are you really picky about your headphones they aren't that great cause they have some EQ in them so the sound sounds "Better" so they are not for the WE NEED BETTER AND UNEQUALISED AUDIO people.

I hardly ever break headphones. You need to buy better quality ones ($14-20 isn't anywhere near appropriate for a decent pair).

This is the story of the pair of headphones I used for over a year. They ended up looking ridiculous, though, (one person gave them the accolade of "ghetto") soooo new ones made their way to me.
