The 1990s Spider-Man animated series hasn't been put on DVD to any great extent; only a few select episodes are available. The more recent The Spectacular Spider-Man show, however, is pretty damn good, and should be easy to find. |

Bah, why is it that the shows I want are either hard to find on DVD or damn pricey? Much as I love Batman TAS, Futurama, and Outlaw Star they be hitting me budget fairly hard. - You stupid dog. |

either way spiderman's comics have never been particularly good as cool as spiderman is he was just really bad in the nineties and marvel decided the best way to clean him up was to reboot him (in the stupidest way possible, but nevermind that! i just pretend he fell into a time warp or something) then they went on writing comics. recently he got pretty good again, im not sure about everything between now and OMD/BND though, but its not the nineties! also ultimate spider-man is pretty good i think? i don't know i don't read much spider-man.

Like Civil War and beforehand he was actually kind of decent. A lot better than 90s Spider-Man to say the least. |

(which is good because ******* iron man was the worst.) also i thought one more day was way before civil war. i must be missing something, but regardless spiderman has sucked for a long time and hes kind of ok now so somewhere along the line marvel did something right ok! tldr: marvel isn't the best but they don't suck and their universe is way better then mainstream DC universe imo. |

No really...Civil wars between superhero factions, various universe resets, retcons, alternative timelines, universe splitting, alternative universes, crossovers, Crises on Infinite Worlds, various evil doppelgangers, reimagining, characters being cloned (Terra, anyone?), characters dying and then suddenly being resurrected (Raven, anyone?), etc. Well I guess that is what happens when you have a lot of different authors writing it. |

That's the truly sad thing. These characters are going to outlive us all, but in 70 years' time, they'll still be the same people they have been since 1965. They won't have learned a damn thing. They'll be doing the same thing the same way, making the same mistakes as they go. I guess I always knew that at the back of my mind, but Marvel's butchering of Spider-Man (formerly my favorite character) brought that fact to hideous, hideous light. I feel like scales have fallen from my eyes and I'm seeing clearly for the first time. After all, what's the point of getting so deeply involved with these characters when they're doomed to never actually go anywhere?
