So anyways, Christmas Dinner planned ahead of time. Because we're used to my sister going off to eat with her boyfriend later, we have the dinner at lunch time. We get what we want, Delicious Honey-baked ham. Yuuuum...oh wait, we just remembered that my sister doesn't like Ham. So we call her and ask what she wants - Turkey Breast. Yeah. That's nice, too. I'm not so hot on Turkey myself but I'll just eat ham. We'll give her and her boyfriend the leftovers. But wait! This morning, she calls and says "We're going to my boyfriend's for Breakfast." And they don't leave until around 10:30. So they say "We're not coming over for lunch". Well that's not bad, should we wait for dinner? Nope - She decided to stay over all day. Supposedly she said that we "Wouldn't mind" and that we "didn't have plans" with her. Well again no problem...why not invite her over tomorrow? Wrong again - she doesn't even want our leftovers. She doesn't want to come over at all. Meaning that we bought, brined, and prepared a bunch of Turkey Breast and her other favourite foods for no good reason. I'm going to suggest donating the leftovers to the homeless shelter like we did with the leftover 10+ pounds of meat mom made for ONE MEAL two years ago - they need it more than we do. (If you're wondering, mom made 14 pounds of meat and expected it to feed five people and was actually surprised at the ****tons of leftovers.) I'm not mad at her boyfriend's family at all, but damn, we could have saved a lot of time brining(sp) and cooking the turkey, mashed potatoes, and rolls that we got just for her. The ham by itself was more than enough for just three people. It's not like she lives out of town, either - she literally lives in town within driving distance and just bailed. It's not the boyfriend's family's fault...I know several people over there would chew her right on out for bailing on us, especially when we did all that stuff just for her. That's just plain rude. |
