So anyways, the class is being held over dinner at his house. Sounds kinda nice how he wants to get to know his students, but already he's not making a very good impression. So for starters, you need a book for his class - like most classes. But this dude not only wrote the book but he's covered the tracks for it very well. Ie, you have to get it through either Amazon for $50 (and even the kindle version costs $50!), or through the college bookstore for $50. None of the other stores have it yeah, $50 isn't bad for a book but you just know they're only going to take it back for no more than $5 or 10, $20 if you're lucky. None of the other books get it. And this book is a small novel - it's not a textbook. Something like that I would EXPECT to cost $50 at least. Also as for the mentality...lessee he expects everyone to read the book by the first day of class, and had sent a very condescending email to everyone ending with "Enjoy your last days of freedom". In b4 "History - that's her problem", "Graduate school - that's her problem", and "Liberal arts - that's her problem/she deserves it". |
