Bikers

Get out of the way you vermin, and FFS if you're insane enough to drive outside at 10 PM then wear reflective clothing or something so I don't run into unexpected speed bumps.

(srs note: Why are people biking after sunset. Even with reflectors on the bike and bright clothing or whatever, biking that late on the street is just a no-no.)

Hey, people have to get around somehow. Not everyone is as incredibly rich and handsome as you are.

Yeah, they're a fully classed vehicle, man. Just because people don't treat them that way doesn't mean you've got much right to complain.

If you ever have to deal with motorcyclists thinking it's perfectly okay to drive on the line between lanes every day of your life, then we'll talk, 'cause that's what's happening here.

Arrow

Um, are we talking about bicycles or motorcycles? Or both? Or neither?

Outside of the time before Sturgis when there's mob after mob of motorcycles coming in, I never have had anything against them.

Yeah I probably worded the title badly. Cyclists? Bicyclists?

I kinda assumed from the start that you were talking about bicycle users.

Anyway, that's why most major streets in my city have a lane for bicycles on the sidewalk.

The problem with that is that motorized bicycles want to ride on the cycling lane too, which is incredibly dangerous for pedestrians.

Major cities?

This isn't even a major state.

The thing that irritates me about cyclists where I live is that none of them know how to follow the rules of the road. STOP SIGNS LOL WHAT ARE THOSE. Allmyrage.

[Also the cars don't know the laws about cyclists either because when I am riding my bike and I get into the left turn lane to turn, which is perfectly legal, all the drivers rage at me. >_>]

South Dakota isn't exactly warm enough for motorbikes to be the favorite transportation of the douchebag union.

That first bit was about bicycles, though. I mean, there's no guarantee any bicyclist actually abides laws or anything, but it's completely legal and reasonable for bicyclists to ride on the road at night. Most places it's not even legal for them to use a sidewalk/footpath.

I love biking at night. There's less traffic, it's quieter, it's cooler, there are fewer people out to hear me singing to myself as I ride...

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

It sucks when the weather's bad though. All these raindrops keep falling on your head.

^But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red. Because I wear glasses, which keep the rain out of my eyes. (Actually, my glasses are main reason I don't like being out in the rain; they get all splotchy, & if I don't have my cleaning kit nearby, they won't come clean at all.)

^^So the annoying-but-translucent water spots turn into completely-opaque smears? Brilliant.

Val:

As a cyclist who actually wears a helmet, who stops at stop signs and red lights, and who rides down one way streets the CORRECT way (and hates doing so), I do feel like salmon are doing us a disservice. So too are the worst of all - cyclists who RIDE ON THE SIDEWALK.

But in all seriousness though: why is there so much hate on this forum for those of us who don't drive? I don't want to accuse anyone of demanding streets are for cars. They're for people. You guys already have 30-60 feet while we only get 4 feet or so. I'm not going to defend lawless cyclists but I am going to defend my right to the road over SUV road hogs. -CSM
