My whole life and might end at some point.
I didn't even have one until last June, so I don't think I'd have much of a problem going back to a regular cell phone indefinitely. Smartphones are nice, but all the extra features are more conveniences than necessities.
There are some circles in which I'm known as "Boo the 'no smart phone' guy".
I barely have a flip phone.
I still have the same flip phone from several years ago. Once in a while I think I could use Internet on the go, but not often enough to justify the added expense. Even just a phone in general is such an outdated way to communicate.
I use my smartphone for my alarm, crossword puzzles, texting about meetups, the occasional call from family, and sometimes to look up stuff when I'm at the store. I'm not addicted to it and probably could do without it, but it's convenient to have all these features in one device.
unlike you old farts I embrace my technology
I don't need the smartphone I've got, though it's nice to be able to check the weather radar when I'm out of the house. XD
(It should be noted that my smartphone was a gift from a family member who thought my old normal mobile phone was not sufficient.)
^Likewise, my parents got me a prepaid smartphone for Christmas. I haven't actually taken it out of the box yet.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
Smartphones make life a lot easier but any type of phone will suffice, so I could live without one forever.
I don't have a smartphone.
I prefer to have it around but can go without it. The times I've been without one because of it breaking/being lost have added anxiety (especially since it usually happens at the worst possible times) but nothing I can't get through. Managed to finish planning and hold a concert without my smartphone which sucked but it worked out.
I also went without a smartphone for two weeks a few years ago when I was in Germany. Technically I still used it for taking pictures but my primary phone usage is text and I couldn't do that and I was just fine.
I actually do need a smartphone as I need to be able to check my email at all times for work. That said, I went about a week and a half earlier in the month because I was switching banks and couldn't get my bill paid until I got my new debit card, which got lost in the mail, so they had to send me a new one. I was fine tho. Just had to have my laptop and wireless a lot because work.
I always carry a spare credit card or three.
I'm pathetic, I would need it to survive at work. Lunch times without a smartphone listen to music. *shudders*
