Not everyone he elects is going to be pro-LGBT, and vice versa. Regardless, sorry you're feeling that way.

There's been a lot of news lately about how Trump's canditates have these terrible beliefs and policies, but who's really surprised that he endorses these people?

On a semi-related note: As a resident of Indiana I'd like to personally apologize for Mike Pence.

As far as I know he's not done yet.

Well, it's about that time. To be fair, there's been a lack of patience when it comes to transgender issues but now that homosexual marriage is legalized it seems we might have our next big civil rights stand off primed and ready.

Maybe. You can't really predict these things.

You're surprised the people he's appointing hold these beliefs? Gosh it's almost like you're shocked that a Republican president-elect is... acting like a republican.

I don't think anyone here is surprised.

Trump is probably about as close to LGBT friendly as you're going to get from the right, unless you consider Libertarians the right. His potential pool of cabinet choices, probably not so much. Some will be more extreme than others, and some are just playing politics to appeal to the religious right, like the Democrats who suddenly changed their minds all at the same time about opposing views. Regardless, I don't imagine such a stance is likely to be seen as a qualifier (or disqualifier) for most cabinet positions.

The word I keep hearing about Trump appointments is loyalty, rewarding people who propped him up while most people from both parties unsuccessfully tried various underhanded methods to derail his campaign. If there's one thing I learned about Trump from watching The Apprentice all those years, it's that he places a very high value on loyalty.

Trump seems pretty neutral on LGBT. That's really the best approach anyway, in his political interests at least.

I still don't really understand what Homeland Security does that Justice, Defense, & the CIA don't also do, besides having a buzzwordy name.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^I think the idea was more that they'd act to connect existing sources of intelligence than that they'd be fully distinct from all the various organizations within the CIA, DoD, DoJ, FBI, NSA, DEA, border agencies, etc.
