For the record, I like BOTH The Simpson's and Family Guy (can't say the same about South Park -- which I've had a grudge against every since the anti-Canadian antics in the movie) EDIT: Maybe, I'll keep the topic open and just keep an eye one it. Just watch the F-Bombs. Last edited by Gimpy; 04-07-2006 at 10:21 PM. |

That Last post was about Futurama, wich is going to come back depending on how the sales of the dvds do. |

I still stand by the fact that The Simpsons is becoming gradually suckier because of guest stars. Rather than promote good plots, they'd rather go "Hey, Ray Romano is in this one! RAY ROMANO, ZOMG!!" ~Dylan |

And FF takes most of the jokes the Simpsons uses. Family Guy is just a rip off of other shows. |

I really think they were slamming FG and that the way Cartman felt was the way Parker and Stone feel when people compare South Park to FG. While I really like both shows, SP is written a lot better than FG. I like the randomness of the FG flashbacks and pop references, but it's true that they're often not related to the plot at all. Sometimes the plots are ok, but sometimes they're just ridiculous (like the time Brian married Lois when Peter was shipwrecked). Recent Simpsons episodes aren't very well written at all either: to me a Simpsons episode always feels like the writers don't know how an episode is going to end when they start writing it. What I really wonder is, will the next episode be a true sequel or will they pull one on the viewers again. Does anybody remember if the two parter Do The Handicapped Go To Hell/Probably originally aired in consecutive weeks? I've only seen those on my computer, and on DVD. Oh, and Sean, get a sense of humour. South Park makes fun of everyone/thing. |

I cannot stress how disgusted I can get during some episodes of South Park. The Trapper Keeper episode with mutated Cartman and any episode with Mr. Hankey is disgusting. Other points are hilarious, but it's one show I just don't care to watch if anything else is on. Even then, I'd probably turn to my NES emulator. And don't get me started on how terrible the recent episodes of the Simpsons have been. __________________ Can I has signature? | |

Yeah, Koga, that two-parter did air together; they only time they duped us was with Cartman's father. The Trapper Keeper episode was excellent. Mr. Hanky, however, is a one-trick pony and quite disgusting after the first few minutes, and I'm glad they've stopped using him. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

They couldn't figure out how to write her so they de facto eliminated the character. Family Guy has gotten to the point where they don't HAVE plots. The Simpsons took about ten years to hit the point where they just threw together weak plots, whereas Family Guy did it in three. South Park lampoons pop culture in a deeprooted, satyrical manner. Family Guy just mentions it to mention it in a oneliner (REMEMBER THAT TIME BLAHBLAHBLAH, or LIKE THAT TIME BLAHBLAHBLAH). Hey slapnuts, Simpsons have heavily featured guest starts since like Season TWO. Nothing new. WTF is FF? |

I also quite like the jokes about Stewie and Brian; they both behave like (human) adults, but they still have the characteristics of an infant and dog respectively. These jokes are also often unrelated to the plot, though. |

I loved it from the opening that spoofed 'Not Without My Anus' to the Simpsons references an from the way Family Guy episodes were written to the Terrorist retaliation. Great stuff. |

There's a difference between making jabs at pop culture and relying on it. I feel like anyone can write a FG joke. Anyway, the only bad part is that I've been saying what SP said for a while now (although I still think the first 3 seasons are funny. Now EVERY joke seems very forced) but people are going to think I'm jumping on the bandwagon. :/ |

Those have been constant criticisms of Family Guy since the show started. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

You can draw Family Guy when you're ten years old. You don't have to get any better than that to become a professional cartoonist. The standards are extremely low." - John K. (Ren and Stimpy) |

What happened to that show? |
