It depends on what period you're talking about.

If you mean the Nicktoons back in the 90's, with Rocko, Ren and Stimpy, etc., then Nick wins in a landslide. If you mean the originals from Nick NOW... I'd have to go with Cartoon Network.

He means Nickelodeon's new digital TV channel Nicktoons, Nicktoons shows every cancelled shows like Rocko's modern life, Invader ZIM, The Angry Beavers, etc. Well, I guess I'll have to go with Nicktoons, because Invader ZIM rocked.

Actually, I mean just Nicktoons in general. Nick's original cartoons have always been called that.

As for me I like Cartoon Cartoons better.
Dexter + Johnny + Ed, Edd, and Eddy + Courage = Win

Mix & Match.
More on the Nicktoons side, though.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Let's see what Nick and CN have going for them:

Nick:
Fairly Oddparents
Spongebob
Rocko
Ren and Stimpy
Angry Beavers
Invader ZIM
Danny Phantom

CN:
Powerpuff Girls(it's entertaining)
And...uhhhhh....Dexter's Lab. Sometimes.

I say Nick pulls out in that one.

You might want to add Danny Phantom to that list...

My real vote is Cartoon network. Because these are my least favorite ones. Edit: I added some now.

Nickelodeon
Danny Phantom isn't really that good...
Spongebob is a piece of crap.
My life as a teenage robot is the same to Spongebob.
Chalkzone is still part of the friday night nicktoons! Bah! Nobody likes that!
Jimmy Neutron. Bad. But not that bad. But not good.
All grown up. HELL NO.
Rugrats was quite good at the beginning, but when Kimi showed up. It was a giant hunk of crap.

Cartoon Cartoons
Powerpuff Girls.
Dexter's labratory is just weird with all the fantasy and weird stuff.

So that's why I went for Cartoon Network.

Johnny Bravo is good too. And if we're counting all past cartoons, don't forget the original World Premiere Toons that were on CN (basically the predecessor to the Cartoon Cartoons). Those were pretty good, and a couple of the Cartoon Cartoon series originated during the WPT stint (Dexter and Powerpuff Girls, to be exact).

despite my older age, I still watch my fair share of toons.

Cartoon Cartoon's all the way. Dexter (at least in its earlier days), Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd & Eddy, Cow & Chicken, Samurai Jack....good stuff.

CN's old stuff is better than what they have now
-2 Stupid Dogs
-The Johny Quest Cartoons (especially the newer onez)
-Josie/Scooby Doo
-Shirt Tales (I bet hardly ANY of you remember that)

Now I give em
-Brak Show
-Family Guy
-Futurama
-Dexter

Nickolodeon has/had
-Angry Beavers
-Rocko
-FAIRLY ODDPARENTS (THE BEST)
-Spongebob
-Danny Phantom
-All Grown Up
-Rugrats
-Nuetron is ok sometimes

Johnny Quest was THE BEST. Old and new episodes both.

Rugrats used to be good, but after they added Dil, they started dumbing the show down. Earlier on, it was a show anyone could watch and like (and if I remember correctly, there were a lot of jokes that only older audiences would have picked up on), but now the target audience is the under-10 crowd.

^An example:

Chaz (on phone): Stu, I've got to go, I'm paying $3.50 a minute on the other line.
Stu (over phone): *muffled scream*
Chaz: Of course not, it's the crossword puzzle hotline!

I didn't mind Dil so much 'cause they used him more as a prop than as a character. But Kimi just killed it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
