I have to come home to THIS? - VGF

After having great time on the band trip, I come home dress in my black pants and black Maryland Terps shirt. (Don't ask why, I just like the color black.) As soon as I get in the truck, my brother looks at me and asks me if I've gone goth/emo. I thought he was just messing around, and calmly said no. I get home and a few hours later, my brother and my mom say some of the stupidest and unfunny things and call me miserable for not laughing at it. They say I have no sense of humor and then my brother make another comment about my clothes, saying "Those clothes fit you just perfect with your emo personality." I knew now he wasn't joking and told him sternly that I had not gone emo. "Well, fine. Goth then." I start to get angry and my voice raises. My mother come back in on the conversation and says that I have no sense of humor three more time (because the drunken bitch can't think straight after three beers) and each time my brother adds, "Or happiness!" He's seen me as happy and jumpy as can be. For some reason he hates emo/goth people. I have no feud with them and don't want to bother them, but I don't want to follow that road.

It always seems that one group of my friends always hates the other group and hate me for hanging out with them, and the other side does the same. I can't choose these sides!

So, Alex, it sounds simply like you family is made up of the uninformed. You have three options, ignore them and dress how you like, cater to them and wear more orange or green, or spite them, spend a day (weekend most likely) completely 'gothed out' in makeup, buckles, and ink.

I see that as the good old 'go away, you decrease the sum of all human knowledge' look, if you were to tilt your hear up by eighteel degrees and you get one of my personal favorites, the arrogant 'everybody hates you but is too polite to say it' sneer.

True Death stares, the ones that make people think you're going to to tear out there throat require curled lips and bared teeth, just don't overdo it or it turns into the 'your gonna get mongled' face.

^Tried that. All that happens is I keep getting hit iin the head with a stapler. And my brother and friends said it looked emo because of the hair and gaze.

My parents actually tried to make me go Goth, because half of my wardrobe is full of black clothes. Didn't work.

Anyway, tell them that you could look worse. Tell them that you could look like a Chav.
