I'm so sad for her, so disappointed in her and for her, that I can hardly see straight. It's going to break my mother's heart, I'll tell you that for free. Goddamn mess this is. I don't know how the hell the family's going to cope--I'll likely have to drop school again. Stupid, irresponsible girl. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

This is your daughter's problem, not yours. For as selfish as it may sound, you should not accounted for your sisters mistakes. I somewhat have this kind of problem. I seem to let others drag me down at times. Like my cousins a few years ago needed a ride to school every single day, and sometimes I even drove them to work. Thought that's nothing near to your situation, I think it applies to your situation as well. If it's going to affect your life dramatically, don't let it. There's only so much one person can do. It's better to have one person down in the slums than two people. Though perhaps I should hear more about why you'll have to drop school before continuing on. If it's regards to your sister, she should have to drop out (hopefully she's in college) and delay her education instead of yours. Unless it has something to do with your parents that you'll have to drop out of school. But I wish you luck nonetheless. |

Try to help her in any way you can, but you have to focus on your own life financially. If there's anything to do, try to take her out and cheer her up. How long ago did she get pregnant? -CSM |

Dunno if she's even keeping it, to be honest--she and Ma both skew well liberal. Heat of the moment in that earlier post. I was venting, more than a little messed up by the whole thing. I don't honestly see dropping out, now I think of it. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

The same thing happened to someone very close to me. Whether she keeps it or not, she'll have a burden to carry that time will lighten, but not erase. Don't drop out of school though. I'm sure she doesn't want to feel responsible for that as well. Your family is likely to be alright after the shock dies down, though. |

I understand how stressful an unexpected pregnancy can be on the entire immediate family, and that you will feel a sense of responsibility. Just remember, with a mistake like that over her head, your sister will need your love and support more than ever. Even if you're angry and disappointed in her behaviour, she's your sister first. *hugs tight* Don't forget, VGF is always here to offer terrible innertubes advice! |

I hope it all turns out okay. And it's a good thing you aren't dropping school, you need that. Not much I can tell you as far as experience, but let us know what happens and know we're keeping you and your family in our thoughts |

First and foremost, thanks for bearing with me and 'being there', everyone. It's been a hell of a day. Had a sitdown with Sister early this afternoon, and it cleared the air a touch. 1. She's keeping the kid, assuming it comes to term. 2. Father isn't one of the unemployable drug-addled pissants that make up most of her old clique, but rather a 'respectable' sort with a good career and a kid. (Also seven years her senior, but ehh.) 3. She and the father have known each other forever and are in a romantic relationship (i.e. not a one-night stand). 4. Sister is definitely moving out, to be fully supported by the father. I have to keep the damn cat, though. 5. "Hey, look on the bright side, you're going to be an uncle!" (Also, I'll have weird familial connections to most of the aforementioned druggie scum, to whom the father is distantly related. So, hallelujahs all around, then.) Then I talked with Ma. She was disappointed and all of that, but decidedly cool. So. There it is. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

She's a Siamese mix--looks like the real thing, but with white socks. (Siamese vocal chords, that's for damn sure. Big-time yowler.) I have to keep her because she's fifteen and a bit mental--plus, there's the old thing about how handling litter can screw up your unborn child. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |

Good to hear she's got plans for supporting the kid, and she's with a guy who has previously been shown capable of doing that sort of thing. I can understand why you freaked out, though. Christ, if my sister came home pregnant? I'd end up in jail. |

I'll let all of you clever folks figure out why I'm giggling immaturely over the last paragraph in Wy's post. Thanks again for your kind counsel, O my brothers. Hopefully everything'll be back on the bright now. __________________ Boo--beware, he lives |
