My great uncle Phil, who was a great jazz musician and I always looked up to when I played my saxophone, died. I loved him so much and I'm so upset I never had a chance to say goodbye. -CSM |

Losing someone you admire is never easy. I lost my grandma, the one person I looked up to, last February. It's good that you have memories of him because now you can always keep him tucked away in your memory. I hate the feeling of how when someone dies how we feel like the world should stop to comfort us because it never does. It's kind of like the world's way of nudging us forward to keep moving. Sure, they can stay in your memory, but try not to focus too much on the hurt. I like this quote by Abraham Lincoln: "I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards." Take your time to heal. It's going to take time. I'm sorry, man. |

Try and remember him for what he loved, and appreciate those things for him now that he's not around. Helps me deal with loss a little bit, even if it hurts. |

I didn't even get to see him in his last moments, I was at the videogames live concert when it happened, I didn't know until after the concert was over and even though I was a 21 year old man I cried so hard when I got home that night. even thinking about it now make me want to let it all out again. I'm sorry for your loss, may he rest in peace. Last edited by Inferno Dragon; 02-28-2008 at 10:59 PM. |

I have a great aunt in her 90s as well, who is also not doing well. I've actually yet to experience this... but know always that he had a nice, long, good life surrounded by loved ones. He'll live on inside you. ![]() Glad you're feeling a bit better. |
