This isn't really something you should be getting depressed over. Getting all down and snapping at people isn't gonna help. yeah, sure it's tough, but you just gotta roll with it.

Self diagnosis tends to be wrong, heh.

Despite the number of mental conditions I could be laboring under, people insist that I am sane. Which is odd, as I see all kinds of strange patterns.

Then again, most of those patterns involve things which other people then reiterate to me: "That's just common sense."

Then there's the wacky stuff which is crazy--but that's usually my imagination. Meh...

Looking at that list, so many of those things sound like me now, and a few how I used to be. It's almost scary. People used to think I was autistic, for instance. I have improved , but I do still have trouble communicating when there are too many people. And I feel depressed when coming out of crowded events, like basketball games, at least sometimes.

I wouldn't worry so much about it. It isn't fatal. And, like Chunky said, poor social skill doesn't mean you have it. If you already have poor social skills, what difference does it make if you have it or not anyway?

The reason we ask who diagnosed it is that a large number of purported 'sufferers' are people self-diagnosing. The possibility your social problems are your fault are very real, and so one musn't allow people to hide behind a disorder if that isn't the case.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a "problem", more like an obstacle. In the long run it's not going to hinder your life like down-syndrome or severe autism.
