Never had any problems. Today, however, I was playing in the car - we arrived at our destination, so I zipped in up in its case and carefully deposited it in the pouch attached to the seat in front of mine, for safekeeping. Later when I tried turning it back on, I found that the LCD screen was broken. How, I have no idea, since I didn't drop it and didn't hit it in any way. But alas and alack, it is broken, and unplayable. And I have great sadness. And anger. Hopefully, I can exchange it tomorrow - cross your fingers! Last edited by ZeldaGirl; 05-23-2008 at 01:51 PM. |

| Super Bodyguard & King of the Arcade | Karma You should be nicer to certain VGF members. That sucks though. Did you stuff it in close proximity to a bunch of other things? |

No - I purposefully put it in a place where I thought it would not likely be damaged. And all of us got out of the car, so it's not like someone was messing with it when I wasn't looking. ^Well, hopefully, Target will exchange it - I mean, I do still have the warranty on it. | |

I remember when PSP debuted, there were movies for it that ran longer than the batteries did. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| Senior Member | I have a friend with one broken DS, one missing DS, two broken PS2s, an X-box that crashes 50% of the time, a broken GBA, a missing GBA, a broken Dreamcast and 10 games scratched to the point of being unplayable. Consoles/handhelds seem to be unbreakable, and then you do something small to one and it breaks. |

But are you absolutely sure the LCD screen is broken? I mean is it cracked by chance? Because tis strange really, it shouldn't just stop working. Have you tried holding the switch up for a few seconds. Cos the exact same thing happened to me once, and it turned out to be a faulty switch!!! Also, have you tried removing the battery and inserting it again? The battery could be yer problem. ![]() |

Every Sony system I ever owned broke within five years, whereas my SNES lasted a good 15 years before it broke. I'm sorry this had to happen to you. -CSM |

You keep your game system in a safe place and then it mysteriously breaks?!?!? That sort of BS makes you want to hit something... |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | Could be a temperature thing - if you left it in a car at a billion degrees (or outside the car at negative billion degrees), it could crack. |

So, the inside of the car wasn't hot at all. And to Kevrosini: I checked by turning off the console - but, you can definitely SEE the crack in the screen. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | Well, that kind of sucks then. It's probably still under warranty, maybe, so you might be able to bug Sony for a new one. Or, get a DS, if you don't already have one. There are actually games for the DS. |

Lol I know it's summer, but did you leave it in the car overnight? Did it happen to get cold at all? Cause I learned this winter that it's not good to keep a laptop in the car for too long if the temperature becomes absurd. |
