So then they gave me 3 options of when I could be called again. Two of those options were ALSO DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. ![]() That left me with the only choice left, early summer. So I got called for early summer, June 16th, to be precise. One of my best friends is getting married on June 21st. I'm praying that if I can't get out of it, it's at least a minor case so it'll be done in a couple days. Or at the very least, that I don't get sequestered. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I'm sure the defendant would attend your trial, if he was called to jury duty. Only fair that you do, I guess =\ |

If they come a-knocking I'll probably just shred it all and deny ever getting it. Nothing they'd be able to do about it. That, or show up wearing an "I Love Jesus" shirt, and keep claiming to know people like the judges or defendants, etc. |

The judge was sitting right here; he would know that he didn't know me. Quote:
Why wouldn't I be able to fly because of that? Quote:
Spent half of yesterday sitting in the general assembly room, reading. Got called for a panel right after lunch & spent a good hour or so wasting time between waiting & reading in 2 other lobbies en route to the courtroom. Judge gave some quick opening questions & instructions. Prosecutor spent over 2 hours interviewing us (mostly en masse), roughly 90 minutes of which were spent on reiterations of the same question, until 5 pm & everyone went home. Went back this morning, & the defense counsel only took 20 minutes to do his interview....after starting most of an hour late. Then we got to wait 90 minutes in the lobby again before being called into the courtroom one last time just before lunch; 14 juror numbers were called (12 for the box & 2 alternates)....mine was not one of them. ![]() And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" | |||

| The Girl in the show next to us, has just done Jury Duty. The bloke was being charged with murder. She thought he was innocent, because he looked "lovely". She, however, didn't watch the video of him killing the other person. Bless her. Anyway just pray that it's a minor case. If not fake a bomb scare. (Note, this may be the worst idea that I've thought | |

It SUCKS going through all that, though. Last edited by StarryPeach; 06-24-2008 at 03:12 PM. Reason: I need to proofread. :D |

| Godly Member | Jury duty is a civil obligation. Don't look at it negatively but rather as an interesting experience. __________________ ![]() Click here to level up my card! |

It was the timing that was the problem; 3 of 4 dates at times when I would be at school 200 miles out of town, & the 4th less than a week before a once-in-a-lifetime event. If it was just a matter of missing work for a couple days, I wouldn't have been upset at all. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
