| What's this what's this a trick with a twist? Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Shhhh, it's a secret right now Gender: Posts: 13,610 Thanks: 1,145 Thanked 755 Times in 438 Posts | My Damn Back So if you didn't know I had surgery to get a cyst remove from my lowerback-tailbone area back in February. We got stitches that were supposed to be in for 2-3 weeks and then removed. The stitches got removed but the wound didn't close, so they told me just to remain relaxed and every once in a while they'll put some sticks of nitrate (somethin like that) on the wound to burn the tissue down adn allow the wound to close. Lo and behold, 5 months later, still not healed. A ton of progress, but still not healed. This causes problems because I have to return to school for work-related purposes in about 3 weeks, and my work can be physically demanding, it doesn't help that regardless of how I move, that wound is going to move because it's in that particular joint. So in a last ditch effort I'm going to be spending at least half the time that I'm awake laying on my side or stomach hoping that it allows the wound to at least close up some more. Here's to hoping this works. |

I'll ask my dad, who has had back problems for years, for help. All in all, be strong. For yourself, for me, and for all those UAB Blazer fans looking to return to the NCAA tournament. -CSM |

I'm actually going under the knife on the 21st of this month (Right ear), as I have for quite a few times in my life (like 4, I think), so I know how surgery can affect you negatively. |
