Take from it what you will. In a world where a fairly modest 16 year old can understand the prospect of theoretical physics, and where one can walk on another planet, why is it that we still focus and envlope ourselves to such lowbrow things like sex or who owns what? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sex just as much as any fetish-less person does, and I don't appreciate someone messing with my things without me knowing. But when most of the thought proccesses I see are based around a potential sexual partner or a sporting event or makeup, I really wonder where my species has gone and where it plans on going. Take for example, a view of the world. I see everything as potential good, and try to capitalize on it, whether it be a situation, a person, or an idea. When such potential is lost, like when I'm ostracised for my beliefs, or when someone tries to debate carbon-dating or the evolution of the planet, I start to wonder at the fabric of the human intellect. Some things are up for grabs as far as fact, but there are some things you simply cannot leave to faith, and to do so is foolish. I am not against faith, in fact, I am almost for it. It can bring alot of good, from soup kitchens for the homeless to charities for Darfurians. But it comes with alot of bad, from the ludicrous wars, the destroying of nations, and the Holocaust for God's sake(literally). When it construes the message that you should do good for everyone and ends up being a very, very sick and frankly upsetting bastardization of the words of Christ, I know something's up. Jesus taught that you should be accepting of your neighbor, that should be pretty clear. The zealotry of current, has got to stop. It's one thing to try to advocate the message you think you've recieved, but to reject any and all other possibilites and demean those whose thoughts may not be the same, even those of fact, you've become a member of the group that's responsible for the lack of advancement we could be making. Don't you understand? Not 100 years ago, nothing by geological standards, we thought we'd never be on the moon. I've had a piece of that same orbial less than inches away from me! Not 200 years ago, the thought of a black president would have been laughable. Look at what happened. Advancement. I can almost guarantee you that sometime in the future we'll have self-sufficient cars, and feasible jetpacks, and hell, even teleportation. Why not? |

Don't get too hung up on the big picture, or your head will explode. I have learned to burn all who go beyond simply criticizing and turn to ostracizing, zealot-ish insanity. This has a chilling effect on it when it's around me. It's all that one can do to damage the tide. As for the sex things, that's what keeps the species self-sufficient. Ironically, some nations may in the future cease to be because they've become so progressive that there isn't enough sex to create enough new people to replace the old dying people. You think it's bad with it? Try if it were to vanish and, as you grew old, there were almost no young people to help take care of you. |

I felt the same way at various times. I've come to analyze the situation and see that while a good bunch of it is stupidity, there is a point to all that sex gibberish--lest Americans slowly die out from old age. |
