Stress and Non-Contempt

AT this point, I no longer know what to feel/think. It's as if every single burden/job/deadline just jumped on me at once.

I'm stressed, I'm tired, I just don't know what ot think right now.

Usually I'm very calm and mellow, but right now, I'm rambling in 100 different directions.

I know none of you guys can personally help me, but venting is a step in itself. People tell me I need to slow down, that I'm doing too much, but the thing with me is I have to be doing too much to feel I'm doing enough or else I bore myself and that's even worse.

I don't know, at this point, all I can say is I can't wait till May 2011. This college thing will be over with, F Gradschool

Don't work yourself too hard, man. Feeling like you're not doing quite enough is still better than being buried.

Hope the best for you.

Thanks Val.

Most of the pressure comes from my family, not directly, but knowing that there's a chip on our shoulder's collectively.

From my generation, on my dad's side, none of the males have finished college. On my mom's side, NOBODY has finished school, my grandma's biggest dream for her grandchildren was for one of them to graduate. She's no longer here, but I feel like I have to carry that on. All my family members are looking for me to do it, and I want to take it on, I love taking it on, and 70% of the time, I'm perfectly okay.

But the 30% of the time where I get tired, or depressed, it hits hard.

Have a Mentos!

Mentos! The fresh-maker!

Seriously, working hard is good and all, but you don't need to work yourself to death.

Sorry I can't offer much more advice other than chillax every so often. :/

I recommend a vigorous weekend of paintball, soccer or anything else physical and taxing.

Doing too much is okay, as long as you are making time to chill as well. Watching a funny movie and having a good laugh can make everything seem a lot easier than before. Sometimes it might feel like you can't spare the time to relax, but you have to remember that you won't reach your goals (graduating, in particular) if you burn out, so setting aside time outside of work, school and other commitments is just as important.

Set some time for yourself man, keep trying, but remember who you're graduating for, cause it shouldn't be anyone but for yourself.

Take one thing at a time. If a deadline is approaching quickly, do what you can. If you get frustrated, take a short nap and come back to it refreshed. Getting sufficient rest is one of the most difficult things to do as a college student, but it makes all the difference.

I hate stress (who doesn't), but I always find the time to chill out. I mean, most of our conflicts are because of unfair constraints or expectations, or just because we're not used to that sort of challenge. It'll all be good, you know you're a badass. Keep doing what you do, the world won't end.
