I ****ED UP A DRAWING JOB

6 hours after making my last backup copy, I screwed up and saved a low-res/layer-less version over the original, somehow. It's high enough res to use as a reference for redrawing, but DAMNIT. I don't even remember pressing save. WTF.

Reminds me of when I lose progress on a programming project the same way (just by accidentally saving an older copy over the new one.) Ugh.

It does suck.

I can also relate because I occasionally use an old comic as a template for a new comic, and then accidentally save over the old one like a moron. I've taken to batching up every 25 comics and uploading it through Dropbox; I'll always have those archives as long as the cloud is up.

If you're running Vista, you might be able to recover your file from a shadow copy: Recover Files Using Vista's Built-In Shadow Copies - File Recovery - Lifehacker

No need to set up a server, if they're doing single-person the file:// protocol is more than enough.
